Reclaimed Antique Brass Ceiling Fixture w/ 3 Figural Asian Men Needs Restoration
This is a fantastic estate find. I pulled this out of South Philadelphia. It was removed from a house over 100 years old. It was painted at one point and I know it is brass. But I think this would have had a greenish paint on it originally. The main part hangs on three chains to the center medallion and features what looks like three shouting Chinese men. Someone made a patch repair to one of the sockets, but I would rewire the entire thing. The paint would need to be stripped, but at that point, you could see how the brass polishes and repaint the antique green if you'd like. I have had this completely apart looking for a manufacturer and it is not labeled. We are buyers. Sellers and traders. We work in the Bucks County Pennsylvania area. 1800's Antique Brass/Bronze Gas Lamp Wall Sconce Figural Fixture Winged Angel
Listing is for an antique gas wall sconce. Made of brass or bronze. A magnet does not stick. Measures 40 1/2" tall, and extends out approximately 27" at farthest point. This does have some issues, there are no mounting brackets or bolts/screws, and no globes, just the main sconce body as shown in the photo(s) There are 3 mounting holes(See 6th photo) which are not perfectly aligned, I thought the top was out of line, but closer looking now and it appears that all 3 mounting holes are not properly aligned. Must have been dropped at some point, so will need to be bent back into alignment. A previous owner has attached 2 triangle shaped loops for hanging/mounting to a wall, I'm guessing one of these was/is the gas line, as I see no other holes. One of the two burners, the stem coming from the main body to the bottom of the top ... moreburner mount is misshapen/bent, should be an easy bend back, this shows in the photos. I'm presuming this is a gas fixture, as the burners are hollow inside, see next to last photo. I'm guessing age to be Victorian era. I see no marks as to maker. But it is very detailed and could be marked somewhere I overlooked. This is very heavy, weighs almost 30 pounds without packing. Thank you for viewing. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL. Antique to older vintage, brass, banquet/centerpiece candelabra. This is a TOWERING piece, measuring an impressive 37" in height and weighing almost 60lbs. The candelabra is constructed of heavy brass/bronze with a gilded finish. It features a square brass base with thick brass, swag appliques. There is a brass male figure who is holding the series of urns which comprise the body of the piece. These are all embossed with delicate patterns. There are 2 main tiers of arms and candle holders which account for 15 of the 16 arms. The arms are very thick brass or bronze and are fashioned in curved acanthus detail. The bobeches and holders are also substantial in thickness and are ornate as well. The final candle holder is located at the top of the candelabra. The candelabra is not marked. It is an ... moreolder piece, dating to the early 1900s. It is constructed with flat head screws and there are large, flat head pins that attach the base to the body. It is in very good, antique condition with some minor areas of darkened patina. In general, most of the gilt is still in tact. The base has some age spots and a very small"ding" which is neither severe nor distracting. As previously stated, this is a VERY HEAVY candelabra. It is sectioned and does come apart. We will disassemble for shipping to minimize any risk of damage during transit. It is not difficult to put back together. The candelabra measures 37" tall.
