Offered here is a lovely decorative cast aluminum polychrome chandelier with crystal accents. This piece has been fully rewired. Cleaned and restored. As with all of our antique and vintage lighting, this piece is ready to install in your home. Notice the green and red highlighted details on the ornate portions of the light. This kind of work is called polychrome. And is very common for piece produced in the 1930's for the American lighting market. A piece like this was frequently ordered for a few dollars from a catalog. Most of this frame is made of cast aluminum and brass. The socket interiors are new. Though we retained the exterior of the sockets to match. The five crystal prisms are cut in an'almond' pattern. And are made of fire polished Italian crystal. Antique Hand Wrought Iron 8 Light Chandelier Copper/Brass Gothic Spanish Revival
Absolutely stunning chandelier. Incredibly heavy 40 lbs or more. Just over 30 inches across making a 60 inch circumference. It is hanging down about 40 inches the way I have hooked it for the photos. Each post is 15 inches long from the leaf tip to the end of the brass and copper ball. This looks as though it has been re painted. It has been painted over on the electric wires. The iron has some slight pitting underneath in small areas but it is a normal issue considering its age. There are 4 chains plus a cap with more chain to hang lower if needed. The back plate that mounts to the wall and arm appear to be cast iron with a lovely gothic or art deco design. The uplip holder of the candle appears to be brass. Not sure but the finish is of brass. The candle extends up from the center of the tulip arm and has the original drip candle covers in great condition. The lights are wired and ready to hang. They are direct wired lights. Rare Pair Antique Arts And Crafts Gothic Gilt Iron And Brass Foliate Sconces
This is a wonderful old pair of antique Arts and Crafts Gothic gilt forged iron and brass foliate wall sconces. They probably date from the teens or 1920s. This is a really incredible pair of sconces. The detail and finish is wonderful. I found a pair with a very similar feeling online that were marked E. F. Caldwell. But these unfortunately aren't marked. If you Google Caldwell foliate sconces you will find a similar pair(though I must say not nearly as nice! for sale at $4900. I don't know how heavily they were colored when originally made. But the current color/patina is truly superb. The finish has not been touched. They have the original wiring. Which MUST be changed! Pretty sure it's made of brass.it weighs around 10 lbs. I looked all over. But could not find a maker's mark. If you have any idea of who the maker might be, please let me know. I'm very curious. Measuring from the rim of the mount to the bottom of the dangling"tassle" is about 37" Widest width about 19" The leaf design around the bulb area has a red/green tint. It only appears to be on certain areas though. A cool effect. I have not attempted to clean this. I will let the buyer do that as they wish. It does need a detailed cleaning. Quite sure this will need rewired. The cardboard pieces around where the bulbs go ... moreare worn. Still cool though. I can only imagine what this will look like after it's cleaned. Hung and lit. Castle design ceiling cap and socket bobeches are common to that era of lighting. The dainty looking flowers in the center of the body add a softer touch to the medieval theme. The chain even looks of the period. All but the chain is made of heavy cast brass/bronze. The outstanding painted finish is completely original, just professionally cleaned and sealed to preserve its beauty. All that's been replaced are socket covers and wiring for safety. This is a very unique piece. It is antique and in the arts and crafts style. It is brass and holds 5 lights between 5 prongs among 5 flur de li. It is at least partly cast brass(center arm and medallion) And has many hand engraved details. It may include other metals as well. This antique chandelier needs a relatively easy restoration. It currently has all cloth covered wiring that will need to be replaced. It would be nice it it were replaced with cloth covered wire. In studying the photos, you can see that the center arm is removable to accommodate rewiring. Here is a substantial. Yet small 9 inch high solid brass antique chandelier. This beautifully detailed 3 light chandelier is marked Made in Spain. Has a lovely patina, I only gently dusted it. I took photos with and without a flash to show the color hilights and terrific scrollwork on the light. They each have a cast figural massive posts with lady and cherub relief designs around the post. Each candelabra has six lights for candles cluster of candelsticks. Up for auction/sale is this original antique cast iron and brass wall sconce/lamp. The shield and arm are made of cast iron. The shield is embellished with filigree work and two ornate finials. The flute base is made of brass and has brass leaves surrounding. The socket is very old and the paper is coming off from around it. There is a considerable amount of rust throughout the cast iron. The arm and base are slightly bent. The socket. Switch, and wiring are present and intact. Antique brass church chandelier.solid beautiful Brass. Marble center ball. With ten solid glass rods. All original except for it has been rewired. This came out of a priests chamber in an 1800's church in southern ohio. Early 1900's. Glass rods will be removed during shipping. Gorgeous statement piece.
