This piece dates to the mid to late 1800s. The sconce has two arms. Beautifully cast in the form of leaves and blossoms. The back of the sconce is done as a laurel wreath with a panel of black glass in the center. In the middle of the black glass is a cast profile of a helmeted Greco-Roman warrior. This decoration is quite detailed and intricate, depicting even the curls in the warrior's hair and the dog and bird in relief on the side of the helmet. Up for bid a really cute antique black glass fixture it has like a fleur de lys filigree design then like a bar in solid brass on each panel it has four panels and each has the same decoration on each panel it has brass embossed ball as decor and the bottom has ribbed designs it is 26 in to the plate it's in great conditon. Antique Brass Hanging Lighting Fixture, Painted Black, For Restoration
This very old hanging porch lantern is brass under the black paint. It was electrified at some point but would need to be rewired. The bulb receptacle contraption looks like a fairly new addition and I'm quite certain that it was originally made to hold a candle or lantern. I have removed the glass panes as they were loose and will ship more safely. They have a slight texture. Are dirty and two of the four have a couple of chips around the edges. The lamp has little notches into which they should fit but it might be necessary to use glue to keep them in place. I'm not sure if the chain which seems to be made of iron is original to the lamp. The fixture is about 12" long and about 6-1/2" wide at the widest point. Up for auction is a vintage antique outdoor 19" street lamp style brass metal painted black lantern. Recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It is found in good used condition but has many losses to its original black paint. It does not attract a magnet so you will not have rust issues with this piece. The top has been caved in and might pop back up, uncertain. This would have been wall mounted, common in cities outside large stores ca 50's maybe even 60's, indicated by the wires and inner porcelain fixture's threading. This has Union made stickers. Antique Auto/ Carriage/ Buggy lantern. It measures approx 8 ¾ inches tall. The front has clear- clean 2 ¾ inch glass lens(fresnel) and is not cracked. It has a black body with brass top and door lens holder. It has two minor dents on top of lantern. There are no dents on the lantern body. The front door opens and secures properly with screw closure. The exterior of the lantern is solid with no rust. the interior of the lantern has some surface rust.
