FOR LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY in Joliet. IL at Uniques Antiques-1006 W. Jefferson St. This is hard-to-find all-original very ornate cast iron steam heat radiator with a warming box that has a shelf inside. It originally had gold leaf paint on the details(it is hard to see, but photo#12 has some gold leaf on the inside of a piece of peeling paint) It stands 38 1/2" tall, is 39" wide and 15" deep. It's a great restoration piece. It needs a lot of TLC, but would be a wonderful piece for any old Victorian home. 27.25" Dome Top Victorian Iron Register / Vent
This is a very cool decorative register vent. It is about 17" wide and is 27.25" tall. It weighs about 20 lbs. Unfortunately it must have cracked at the bottom of the inner dome at some point in time. As you can see in the images it was reinforced with some form of heavy metal(many moons ago) which has same rust as the rest of the piece. The design is beautiful. Check out the close ups of the florals. The applied piece on back is 5" deep. It is extremely stable/ sturdy. There are two areas of deterioration all the way through on the right and left sides at the bottom. Close up images provided. This all sounds so bad. But sincerely, this is a great looking register/ vent. I'm going to pick up the shipping anywhere in USA via standard post to compensate for the damage. If you want to pick it up I'm in zip 08055. It measures on the outside 13 3\4 inches by 10 3\4 inches and the inside where it would recessed into a floor or wall is 12 inches by 9 inches and about 2 inches deep. The metal color is black and it has some wear. But not rusted or damaged and the lever on the top surface moves the louvers inside very smoothly, to close the vent if desired or have it open. Here is a very nice antique floor heat register with original parts and paint. I don't know how old it is. We bought it about 18 years ago at an antique store and it's been stored in a closet ever since. It's in great working order and can be used for the original purpose. It could also be used for display since the underside has great advertising marks on it. The pics show it's condition very well. There are a few small areas of missing paint on the top. On the screws, and the flip switch. There is also some surface discoloration-slight surface rust, mostly on the inner flip panel area. It's marked on the underside with: S.M. F. Co. S. MILWAUKEE WIS. on each bottom panel. It's also marked 4 x 8 in four places. Beautiful old cast iron heating grate. Design has grid and scroll work. Bead blasted. Primed and painted with Duplicolor 500 degree ceramic semi gloss paint. The shell measures outside to outside 11" X 13" The damper measures 8" X 10" There are words stamped at the bottom. But all I can make out is"PAT. SEPT. 18 1900. The 1900 is pretty light. Grate weighs nearly 7lbs. Please look closely at photos. There are casting marks and other imperfections. This is NOT a new piece. Thank you!
