Hi and welcome to my auction. For your bidding consideration is an antique/ vintage used Victorian era cast iron round louvered register. Grate or vent. The grate measures approximately 9-3/8” across the top and 7-5/8” across the louvered bottom. This has no maker's mark on it except for the number 8 cast on various parts. Based upon this and some calculations, I figure this would fit in a hole between 8" and 8-1/8" in diameter. The ornate top has the remnants of a black painted surface. Condition is very good, there are no cracks, repairs or noticed damage. Picture number 12 shows a close-up of what I consider to be a manufacturing process line- it appears to be a solid, horizontal seam BUT NOTHING MORE. The louvers work fine, moving back-and-forth with just the use of my pinkie finger. This could use some additional surface ... morepreparation before applying a fresh coat of paint.
