Antique Vintage Heat Grate Stamped Steel Cover Only
Here is a stamped steel grate cover. This is the cover only. There are no louvers or control pieces attached to it. This style would typically be found over a door that would open and close via a control lever. You can see the hole that this lever would've come through on one end of the grate(see pics) This could also be used a return cover. It is painted black. And the finish is in decent shape. There is a little bit of paint in a few spots as well as a few spots of oxidation. Vintage antique wall mount heat register
Original and decorative! This is one of two matching antique heat registers I have listed. I removed them from my 1940 house in San Francisco during a kitchen remodel that required losing part of a wall. Width = 13.5 inches approx. Height = 12 inches approx. This register goes over the hole. So you have some leeway fitting a smaller hole. Register operates nicely. Needs paint removed. You could do this with boiling water(a little vinegar or baking soda) and a brush- that's how I did all my door hardware! Email with questions. Remove those cheap tin imported air grates from your walls and install one of these cast iron beauties in your home. This cast iron grate can be used in either a floor or wall application. The air duct opening is 7 1/4" in diameter. The face plate measures 9 3/8" x 9 3/8" The cast iron grate was stripped of all the old layers of paint. This is a very cool vintage round/circular cast iron grate/vent/duct cover. This one was made by Stowell Manufacturing& Foundry Company South Milwaukee. Wisconsin. The center piece is completely gone, then the grate that moves to increase/decrease the air flow. All in all this item has a 16" diameter, the center hole is 6.25" in diameter. This is an excellent advertising, metal art piece that can be used as home/office decor or wall art of some sort. Please ask questions if you have any! Antique Victorian 24"x19" Cast Iron Fireplace Surround
This is an Antique Victorian 24" x 19" Cast Iron Fireplace Surround. The information we received was that this piece was circa 1900 but no attribution was made as to where it was made. And I have no independent confirmation of the age other than the assessment that can be made from the photos. I checked for marks in the casting and found"416" and a larger"2" to the left of that, upside down. The very last photo in the lower photo group below the description shows those marks, annotated on the photo with text and arrows. This surround would be great if you have a small fireplace of the approriate size. The surround has feet and can stand freely if desired. The front of the casting has ornate scrollwork designs that flare out to an overall depth of 2" at the center. Tapering to just the 1/2" edge depth ... moreat either end. The dimensions I took are: Outside dimensions- 24 1/4" wide x 19" high Inside opening dimensions- 20 1/2" wide x 15" uniform height all the way across(i.e. the deep increases at the center. But not the vertical dimension) Depth of the feet(front to back) 6" The surround weighs about 12 1/2 pounds and it has a very solid. Heavy feel. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the very heavy weight and large size this item cannot be shipped internationally. Two antique cast iron heat register vent covers. One is round with a scroll pattern. It is painted with black enamel paint. The top is 9 1/2 inches in diameter. The back is seven and 7/8 inches in diameter. The second cover is a rectangular shape. It has a vine-like pattern. It measures 16" x 11" It does have quite a bit of rust. He didn't know it's purpose either, but I loved the style and patina and workmanship and had it hanging on my wall for years. It's a base metal plated with copper, but has amazing styling that makes me wonder if it was a Royer piece or some other iconic designer. Measures 25" wide and 8 1/4" tall and about 1/4" deep. No flaws other than some imbedded polish. It's a mystery piece for me, but I'm guessing it may have been for an elevator. I don't know.
