Up for bid is an old heating register/grate/vent. It is dirty. Rusted, and worn with chipped paint present. Top measures approx 13 7/8" by 10 7/8" Inner dimensions(part that goes into wall or floor) is approx 11 7/8" by 8 7/8" The 4 flaps on the back need to be pushed open and closed due to rust/age, but the lever on the front moves with them, so should be an easy fix. 3 of the screws are missing in the corners. The grate remains to cover the hole, but it gets a really cool look. Just think how great these would look in your room. There is some minor oxidation and signs of wear from use to this piece, however this could be easily remedied. Pictured is a 9 3/4 x 11 3/4 cast iron vent cover. Grille, grate. It has not been cleaned and is covered in rust and old paint, but there is nothing broken and nothing that a wire brush, elbow grease and an anti rust primer can't fix. VINTAGE Floor Register HEATER Heating GRATE Antique not sure if cast iron HEAVY
This is for the floor grate that you see here. Heavy steel or metal floor grate. Not sure if cast iron or not. I don't believe it to be. But the top part could be. Painted but the paint is peeling/chipping off. Surface rust. Solid. I'm guessing it to be well over 100 years old, but that is a guess. I am not sure. The knob that opens and closes it is stuck, will need to be freed up. Drops into a 12" x 7" opening. The top grate is 13.75" x 8.75" Nice look and a restoration project. There are remnants of old paint in a couple small spots but I believe this will remove easily. I have not attempted any clean up. The entire register is intact with no cracks anywhere and the vents still open and close with ease. They also close easily. I have up for auction an Antique Ornate Cast Iron Wall Floor Vent Heater Register Grate that fits an 8 x 10 vent that has working louvers or dampers.There is also a border the grate fits in.The outside of the border is 14" x 16"The grate and border are rusty and will need a good cleaning and most of the paint is missing.The out side of the grate is 9 5/8 x 11 3/4 inches.There are no breaks or cracks.
