Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare 19th Century Victorian ANTIQUE CAST IRON ARCHITECTURAL ARCH-TOP HEAT REGISTER GRATE with Working Louvers and Original Paint. This measures approx. 13 1/2" x 10" and fits approx. 11" x 7 1/2" opening. There is a Switch in the front center that turns to open and shut the louvers. The Top Pin on one of the louvers is not secure. But the mechanism still works, but should be oiled. This is very Rare, Don't pass this one up, I haven't seen one like this for sale before! Late 1800's Culver Victorian Era Cast Iron wall Grate/Register. Very fancy register with with a bronze center turnkey. Which is marked"Culver Patent" Impressive register with Gothic arches,grapevines and Acanthus. Rarely offered this nice. The bronze center louver operator was epoxied on by the previous owner,as it would have had a shaft that attached to the louvers. As a decorative architectural piece, it seems to be on there solidly. Very minor surface rust,as one would expect on unpainted/unfinished cast iron. This one is quite nice,and larger than most at 11-1/8' x 17-1/8" Please note that combining shipping on iron grates may be difficult outside of the northeast. Thanks. Beautiful Ornate Cast Iron wall grate. NO cracks NO chips. Louvers were fine. In need of cleaning paint or clear lacquer. I will leave that to the buyer. Mounting screws do NOT come with this. Common screws so easily found at your local hardware store. These are complete normally you do not find the outer mounting piece with these. Dimensions 17 inches tall x 13.5 inches wide on the outer mounting casting. This is# 1 of 2 I have listed.
