Beautiful antique small wrought iron grate Measures 9-3/4" x 13-1/2" See cut-out on left measures 3/4" x 2" In nice condition. Painted but NOT layer over layer of paint. Appears as though faint rust may be trying to break through the surface. I grade this as EXCELLENT for an antique piece. There are no holes for screws. This may be used for heat vents. But see the photo of the back side which looks like this may be a trivet.

Up for auction is an Antique Cast Iron 9 3/4" Pinwheel Floor Vent or Grate with all its original parts. This was taken out of a New England house built in 1880. No cracks or chips to the cast iron but does have several layers of old paint which is keeping it from spinning to open. It is loose at the edges but not at he center where the screw is. I don't want to take it apart but I'm sure it will spin if taken apart and cleaned. Very Good condition except for the old paint. No Reserve!

Up for sale is an original antique ornate round cast iron heat louvered register floor grate vent stamped"W.G. Creamer NY. Pat. Sep. 14, 1869" on the bottom of one of the louvers. This antique heating floor grate was recently removed from an 1880's central New Hampshire farmhouse. It has some thickly layered gray paint on the top. It measures 9.5" in diameter and sits about 2.25" high. There are three louvers and easily adjust(it looks like a small piece from the handle mechanism may have broken off and the adjustment handle is stuck in place from all the layers of paint) It is in as found condition with areas of rust, paint chipping, discoloration and other age related wear.
