For auction is a Vintage Art Deco Style Metal Heating Vent Grate or Register. This nice old register measures 14 1/2" x 16" and still has the Damper Flap intact. While the wire twist mechanism to adjust is missing. The vent is in very good condition with just some wall paint around the back edge and paint speckling overall- should clean up very nice. Antique ART DECO Cast Iron Heat Register Grate
You are invited to bid on an old cast iron heat register grate from a wall or floor. MEASUREMENTS: Outside- 9¾" Wide x 11½ High" Inside measurements for actual opening- 8" Wide x 10 High" This is a very nice old grate. Even though it was manufactured in the late 1800's. It has an Art Deco look to it. There are half circles, slanted lines and squares. On the outside of the center fin: PATENTED APPLIED FOR THE SIMONDS MFG. CO. 50 CLIFF ST. NY The grate is in"as-found" condition. There is black paint on it. And there is some light rust. We cleaned it off and removed the dust bunnies. We sprayed the moving parts with WD-40 so that the lever works properly, and the fins open and close easily. There are absolutely NO breaks or cracks in the casting! Nice work of art. Rectangular shaped cast iron grate with Geometric pattern. The grate face plate measures 9 3/4" x 13 7/8" The raised front is 5/8" thick. The front grate is the raised style giving it more depth than a flat face grate. Grate has a couple of coats of paint. We do not clean as per collector preference. Should clean up well. The other TWO lay flat and measure 7 1/4" X 5" and is 1/4" thick. Might serve well as trivets or decoration. No breaks nor cracks. Look to be solid pieces. Free S&H to most lower 48 state locations. Antique Sunburst Arts and Crafts Deco Heat Grate Vent Register Vintage Pair
Vintage heat vent grates. Condition: I once had plans on using these many years ago. So now is the time to get them out into the world and to someone who will put them to good use. They are a working pair with only light paint on them so getting them stripped down will be very easy. I'm not sure what they are made of heavy as cast but looks to be possibly brass, or some mixture of metals that they used way back when. The patent date is 1907 so I would imagine they are from that period, maybe through the teens. Both work, so they can be used again. The dimensions are 13.5' long.9.75' tall. the ductwork hole will need to be 12' x 8.25' The gold one has the original mounting surround which is included in the auction. Pretty cool stuff. Great matching set of 2 antique Art Deco cast iron heating register grates or vents. Each grate measures 25 1/4" x 16 1/4" x 1 1/4" Grates weigh approximately 17 lbs. each. So total packaged weight with the single insert will be around 40 lbs. There is only one insert, the other is missing. Insert measures approx. 7 1/2" x 5" x 3/16" The two grates do not have any cracks, breaks or repairs. The enamel which is only on the front is somewhat faded and there is minor chipping. There is light surface rust on the backs and on the front where the inserts sat. The small insert is cracked(this can be seen in the close up pics of the insert along the straight side) Each grate is marked"3F-40X" on the back and the insert is marked"F41" Note.the white spots that you see in some photos actually wiped ... moreoff. I originally thought it was white paint splatters. But it was just something chalky that was easily removed.

This air register is adorned with a pleasing geometric design and also possesses four pilot holes on each corner of the grate for easy installation. Item Details Description Beautiful piece of antique cast iron architectural hardware. It was salvaged from the cellar floor in my sons house. Has dirt and debris stuck to the surface and in some of the holes. Needs to be sandblasted and refinished. This air register is adorned with a pleasing geometric design and also mounting holes on each corner of the grate for easy installation. This wonderful vent is in good condition, one minor crack as seen in the pics. Fit's 20" x 24" hole in the wall or floor. Weighs 35 lbs without package. Note: I work double shifts and odd hours at my real job. Sometime I do not have any time off during business hours for 3 days straight- hence the 3 day handling time. Antique Art Deco 1907 Metal Grate Grille Heat Vent Register Louvered Cover
Hello your is a great metal air vent cover for your consideration. Overall the vent measures 11 1/2 inches wide by nine and three-quarter inches tall from the front. The inside opening of the vent is approximately 9 1/2 inches wide by seven and three-quarter inches tall. It does pivot it so the vent can be open or closed to control airflow. It appears to have the original black paint and does have scratches and surface rust starting as seen in the photographs. The back also has a spot of paint is seen in the photographs as well. The metal flap that opens and closes does have slight bends from use. But should not affect the function of the vent. The backside of the vent is marked and has a patent date of September 18, 1900 and it looks like July 25 of 1907. Vinta ge Metal Wall Heat Re gister. Has a copper patina look. Although it is not copper. Very art deco. Does need a spit and polish. Comes with the outside collar so once attached it slides to the wall to finish the look. Some surface rust on inside of collar. Measurement with the outside collar is approx. 14 inches wide. 12 inches high. About an inch at the top, 2 1/2 inches at bottom. It does have a couple dents, easily straightened(see pics) The grate without the collar is 13 1/2 inches wide, 9 1/2 inches tall. The screw hole is 4 3/4 inches from the bottom. The flap that would go into the wall is 10 3/4 inches wide, 7 inches high. Please feel free to ask questions. From experience I know it's hard to get just the right fit. Check out my! This thick cast iron grate has a radiating sun design! The 10" x 13" measurement is from the center of the outside border. It is marked 10 and 13 in two places, and also is marked Pat. Sept. 1, 1903. It is super sturdy, not rusty, really nice condition, so not sure why two pieces in the design are missing or broken, but I didn't even notice it right away. Up for auction is an antique cast-iron original craftsman style floor vent. It has operable louvers that are actuated with the cast-iron toggle. The louvers open and close freely. The finish on the cast-iron his original it needs to be oiled it has some surface rust but it's not Pitted.The top outside dimensions of the grate are 15 5/8 inches wide. The outside dimensions of the height or 13 1/2 inches. The cut out dimensions are 13 3/4 wideby 11 and seven eights high.this is great hardware salvage from a house that dated to the 1910s. Unusual antique register vent cover from a Late-Victorian home. Has a spider web design cast iron center grate that is ultra Art Deco and is decorated with original copper& black"Japanning" which really sets it off. Measures 14" by 14" overall. This is one of 2 identical fixtures that I have currently listed on ebay so please see my other listings. This unit is complete and functioning. The center grate area is connected to a damper panel behind it that opens or closes off air flow. As you can see in the photos there are two separate pieces.the vent cover seats into the wall mount frame which is slightly slanted. All nice original condition with only normal light surface wear.
