ANTQ Cathedral Style Wall Mount Register Heating Grate/Register Orig 15 x12" I have items piled everywhere. That need to go into my store. Please check back for some'one of a kind' items every week in the bleemelbuilding. This sale is for an antique wall mount heat register or adjustable vent. See picts. The design on the grate reminds me of a simplified Cathedral Window with tall arching'windows' molded in the grate, see picts. I am selling this Register/ Grate as I bought it, no restoration done, just a light dusting. These old industrial pieces are often distressed further but also look great cleaned and painted, so this decision will be left to the new owner, see picts. This Register/ Grate has several layers of paint, top layer brown, but you can see some cream peeking behind, see picts. The worst rust is on the ... morebackside. See picts. It is structurally sound, but is being sold in as found condition, I did not try to sand the rust or restore/clean the paint, leaving the restoration decision to the new owner. Would be easy to sand and repaint, but could be sanded and further distressed for that truly industrial look. The register frame is approx. 15 inches across by 14 inches tall. Measured on to the outside edges of the frame that mounts to the wall. It fits/recesses into the wall, and the approx opening of this frame, where the grate sits, is 12 to 11 1/2 inches tall. There is a section or inner square body behind the frame that I believe connects to the interior wall wall vent to the front of the frame, see picts. This piece looks like there are little metal flaps that attach it to the frame. And these look like they will need reinforced, or maybe soddered, for a tighter fit? see picts. It seemed to rest in the correct position when mounted to the wall, but I am not a heating/air expert, so not sure if the fit is tight enough, see picts. There are two clips on the top. I have 3 vintage wall air vents available that all came out of the same house and are identical except for one has more paint on it than the other two. Each vent is 16 1/4" x 14" x 3 1/4" at the base up to 1" at the top. I rescued these from our uncle's house before it was demolished in Steubenville. Ohio. I have the original mortgage deed to the house from when grandparents bought the house in1929 from another relative. Each vent is priced individually, or you can purchase all three and I will combine the shipping. These vents are all original and the air flap opens and closes and the levers all work. This vintage floor grate has movable louvers/slats. But the latch is stuck(I believe with paint) and the louvers can be movedback and forth by hand. The vent is 14" x 11" on the top but the opening is smaller on the back which is 12" x 9" It is about 2" high. All pieces are original including the chipping paint and areas of rust! This vent was rescued with other architectural pieces from our uncle's house in Steubenville, Ohio before the house was demolished. vintage mission style original wall air vent grate complete
This vintage wall vent is in really good shape for its age. It is all intact with the metal air flap and original lever. The airflap opens and closes and it is 11" x 15 1/4" x 1 1/4" and has interesting arches almost like a stained glass design. I rescued this along with other different vents and fireplace inserts from our uncle's house after he passed away in Steubenville. Ohio. The house had to be demolished, and I couldn't bare to see these demolished as well. I hope you can repurpose/recycle this vent! How you see the vent is how it was in the house. Your fingers get black from holding the back and there are a few areas where paint is chipping off. Old Round Ornate Floor Register 9 1/4 Inches Across Heavy Metal
Here is an old heavy metal round floor register. Very ornate. It measures 9 1/4 inches across the top, about 7 1/2 inches across at the bottom, and is 2 1/4 inches deep, with the vents closed. It is 3 1/8 inches deep with the vents open. I think it is cast iron, but, I am not sure. There is a slide in the middle of the top that opens and closes the vents.
