Antique Cast Iron Floor Register Grate Louvers Damper Heating
Antique Cast Iron Floor Register with working Louvers up for bidding. Stamped"8X10" on all the louvers as well as the back edge- See photos. Great Geometric design on the face. The back edges measure 7.5 inches X 9.5 inches but the sides are angled so that just behind the face it measures 8 inches X 10 inches- see photos. The face measures 9.5 inches X 11 and 3/8ths inches. Beautiful old cast iron heating grate. Design has grid and scroll work. Bead blasted. Primed and painted with Duplicolor 500 degree ceramic semi gloss paint. The shell measures outside to outside 11" X 13" The damper measures 8" X 10" There are words stamped at the bottom. But all I can make out is"PAT. SEPT. 18 1900. The 1900 is pretty light. Grate weighs nearly 7lbs. Please look closely at photos. There are casting marks and other imperfections. This is NOT a new piece. Thank you!

1922 Metal Floor Heat GRATE Vent 8" x 10" Register Cover w/Damper, This is a heavy steel floor grate. This won't bend or ding. The louvers won't bend. It's a beast. It snaps fully open when you want air flow and it will snap tightly closed when you don't. The knob doesn't stick and it's nice and flush. It has a faux hard wood floor finish so it disappears when one looks across your room. You can put furniture on this if you need to, it is super strong. It is made to bear weight, no issue. Excellent Condition. No cracks or breakage of any kind. No loose louvers. Damper functions smoothly and perfectly via the knob on face. It is dusty and has a few white paint splashes on it. Absolutely no rust. The faux wood finish came from the manufacturer. So that"wood" color covers every surface throughout the ... moregrate. The faux"grain" in the wood color is only on the face.
