The tops have threaded ends but the bases have just square holes. Looks like the tops are meant to thread into wooden stakes. As shown they sit in the bases and are not secured. The spear heads measure 14" long tip to end and a little more than 3" at the widest point. The bases are 6.5" tall. 3.5" across the top and 4" across the bottom. Each set weighs almost 8 lbs. These are two cast-iron small finials that are different in shape. I love decorating with these. And I think they add so much charm, to your décor. These are small in size but really cute. I do not think they are old though. The tall one measures 6 and 1/4" tall, by 2" across at the bottom. The shorter one is 5 and 1/2" tall, by 2" across at the bottom. Large Cast Iron Architectural Outdoor Finials
Pair of antique cast iron outdoor finials- recently painted with much pitting and wear throughout- have a great look with cut out design on two sides of each finial- quite large at 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 x 17 1/4 tall and weighing approx. 78 lbs. each- display very well and are a joy to view( I love them! Here's a set of very heavy cast iron finials that were made for those old Victorian fences back in the 1800s. They still have the remnants of the chippy paint on them. Each weighs almost 1 1/2 lbs.
