Antique 1882 Dark Wood Newell Post With Wooden Carved Light Fixture
This came from the back staircase of a historic victorian home in Wellington. Ohio that I am rehabbing. You are more than welcome to inspect and pick up in person. Right now it is in 2 pieces, as I found it. The light section is really heavy with a thick angular centerpiece with surrounding spindles. I would assume it is oak. Heavy dense wood, but I can't really tell for sure with the dark stain. I definitely would rewire. That is a light socket on top. Together they are 61" tall. With the newell post being 41" alone. 6" across. Some egg and dart trim is present around top, which can easily be repaired with new. Please ask any questions. Posted with

Vintage Carved Solid Wooden Acorn Finial - 2 1/2"
This wooden acorn finial looks older. But I cannot say for certain how old it may be. It stands 2 1/2 inches tall and at its widest it has a 2 inch diameter. The base has a diameter of about 1 3/8 inches and the hole in the base has a diameter of about 1/2 inch. This finial was very dry and I've cleaned it once with build-up remover and lemon oil; however, it's likely that it will dry out again. The finish is uneven and has wear and shallow scratches, which gives it a nice old patina. However, I believe that it could also be refinished. Posted with

Stair case rails, mantels and other decorative touches. Each pinecone piece stands 7” tall and is about 2 ½” wide at the middle. The end post on each finial is 1 ¼” long and 5/8” wide. Two of the posts on the pinecones have small nails stuck in them and the others have some minor chips in the wood– the nails can be removed and the chips are minor enough that the posts are still ready to use. The pinecones are made of some type of hard wood– they are not that ... moresoft pine. They are finished in a dark stain and are varnished or shellacked. There are some small dings in the wood and a few scuff marks. There are also natural signs of wear on areas of the pinecones from use. Up for auction is a truly unique pair of draped hearse finials from my father's wagon collection. These could be mounted on posts on either side of a gated entrance for a showy look! Use in new construction as a newel post surmount. Mantel ornaments or lamp bases as they could be drilled for wiring. Anyway you use them they are certainly one-of-a-kind and not to be missed. The quality on each is first rate! They each stand 17 1/2" high and 9" wide including the handles. Base diameter is 6 1/2" The Wood Flames can be removed as shown in the 5th picture. During fair weather Plumes were installed for the service. During inclement weather the Wooden Flames were in place. The draped side panels can be removed if you want as shown in pictures 8 and 9.
