No damages that can be seen with very bright and shiny brass finish! He stands approx. 5" tall with a 4-1/2" wingspan and a 1-3/4" diameter base. We are unsure of the the thread size where a threaded rod would be screwed into. It appears to be 2 separate cast pieces, as there is a screw on the back holding the base to the eagle. This particular piece is unmarked, so we are unsure of who originally made this. We were told when we acquired this finial that this was used at an American Legion hall here in Chicago. We are unsure if this type of finial is typical to Legion halls. Maybe you can tell us! Vintage Brass Bronze Eagle Flag Pole Finial Architectural Americana
Up for auction is a vintage brass or bronze eagle flag finial recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. It is still on a pole which can be removed by unscrewing it from its base. Once unscrewed, there is a 1/4" screw underneath it. I believe the eagle to be brass or bronze, as it will not attract a magnet. It features natural patina, which shows itself as spotting on the sleeve. The wing span is approximately 3 1/2" wide. The eagle is also 3 1/2" tall. A very nice finial. Very nice for reuse or to be used as a finial again. After pulling on the wood for awhile, I finally got it loose. Antique Pair 2 of Acorn or Pinecone Brass Bronze Newel Post Cap Finials Germany
This pair is 3 1/2" high. not counting the screw) 2 1/2" across center, 6 3/4" around middle of acorn or pinecone. Screw is 1 1/4" all the way into the cap, about 1" extends beyond edge of cap. Marked Germany on each. They weigh 9.5oz each. Solid brass or bronze, a magnet does not stick, but it does to the screw part. There is some rust on the underside as shown. These would have many uses, great on a newel post, or a broken pediment on a secretary or chest or bed, on the top of bed posts. The possibilities are endless. 20 Antique Solid Brass Finials. These were purchased from an estate where most everything was from Keeler Brass Company however I am not sure these are Keeler hardware. They are all solid brass. The 10 that are alike are approx. 2" tall. The 7 that are alike are approx. 3-1/4" tall and the other 3 are 3-1/8" tall. These have been stored and never used and are in good condition but could use some cleaning/polishing from being stored so many years. If you have any questions please let me know. VERY LARGE RARE SALVAGED ANTIQUE SOLID BRASS FINIAL 4" - ALMOST 1.50 POUNDS !
This is very unusual and rare antique solid brass and very very heavy finial weighing almost 1.50 pounds. It measures almost 4 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The patina is rich and beautiful! We found this in one of MANY boxes of lighting and door knobs etc. in my fathers basement workshop. We live in the center city Philadelphia art museum area where our 3 story federal style homes were built in the 1870s. People were always throwing the original fixtures out in the 1950s and 1960s to MODERNIZE but my father always collected them. NOW they are putting back what the last generation tore out and threw away. I dont really know anything else about this finial. Thanks for looking at my fathers finial. Fine Quality Vintage or Antique Brass Eagle Flag Pole Topper or Finial
This is a high quality vintage solid brass eagle flag pole topper. The casting show great detail. As in for instance in the individual feathers. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage. It appears that it may have been polished some time ago because there appears to be a bit of polish residue in some crevices. But this was done a while ago because the brass has a patina of age. The base part has 3 threaded holes which were used to secure the topper to a pole. The piece measures about 8 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches wide at the wing tips.

Group of Seven Antique Finials Up for your consideration is this great lot of antique finials. There are seven and they are all different from one another. First is a plastic or celluloid white finial with excellent detail. Metal threaded interior, slightly dirty, measures 3 1/2" tall. Next is a large handle form finial, made of metal or iron, nice fauna detail, probably was a handle more than a finial, measures 3 3/4" tall, 4" wide at the widest point at the top, has a gold paint. Third is a urn shaped brass finial with threaded interior, measures 3 5/8" tall and 2 1/2" wide at the widest point(not magnetic and has a brass color) Fourth is a nicely shaped and detailed metal or brass finial, it is not magnetic, has a threaded interior, measures 3" tall. Next are two small brass finials which are similar but are ... moredifferent.darker patina one looks to be older, both have threaded interiors, measure around 2" tall each. Last is a nice metal shade pull or hanging finial with black paint, external threading, measures 2 1/2" tall from base to tip.
