No damages that can be seen with very bright and shiny brass finish! He stands approx. 5" tall with a 4-1/2" wingspan and a 1-3/4" diameter base. We are unsure of the the thread size where a threaded rod would be screwed into. It appears to be 2 separate cast pieces, as there is a screw on the back holding the base to the eagle. This particular piece is unmarked, so we are unsure of who originally made this. We were told when we acquired this finial that this was used at an American Legion hall here in Chicago. We are unsure if this type of finial is typical to Legion halls. Maybe you can tell us! This is a beautiful cast metal eagle. This is a finial/arhitectural piece that dates to the late 1800's/early 1900's. The piece stands approximately 18.75" high. The base of this is approximately 5.5" square. Finely detailed the wings and head have feathers that look real. The talons are wrapped around what looks like a rock. Each talon has multiple lines giving it life like qualities as well. The front of the eagle has a finely feather detailed chest with a well defined beak and eyes. Gold gilt paint makes this piece a beautiful architectural item. This could be used to accent an exterior column on a house or as a finial at the top of a staircase. Vintage Brass Bronze Eagle Flag Pole Finial Architectural Americana
Up for auction is a vintage brass or bronze eagle flag finial recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. It is still on a pole which can be removed by unscrewing it from its base. Once unscrewed, there is a 1/4" screw underneath it. I believe the eagle to be brass or bronze, as it will not attract a magnet. It features natural patina, which shows itself as spotting on the sleeve. The wing span is approximately 3 1/2" wide. The eagle is also 3 1/2" tall. A very nice finial. Very nice for reuse or to be used as a finial again. After pulling on the wood for awhile, I finally got it loose. Fine Quality Vintage or Antique Brass Eagle Flag Pole Topper or Finial
This is a high quality vintage solid brass eagle flag pole topper. The casting show great detail. As in for instance in the individual feathers. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage. It appears that it may have been polished some time ago because there appears to be a bit of polish residue in some crevices. But this was done a while ago because the brass has a patina of age. The base part has 3 threaded holes which were used to secure the topper to a pole. The piece measures about 8 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches wide at the wing tips.

This vintage USA flag is about 52" x 37" and has 2 grommets that are attached to the flag pole with string. The flag pole is about 69" long and has a platic eagle finial on the end. There is a rip in the fabric on the bottom edge of the flag and more damage in the bottom corner with a small hole and a 1/2" frayed area. This eagle finial is 10 1/4" wide at the wings. And 5 1/2" high. We have been unable to pinpoint what it once was part of. It is an early brass or cast iron finial. Parts of it looks like brass and parts appear to be cast iron. It weighs 4 lbs. We would appreciate any information from you.

For your consideration we have a great vintage eagle flag pole finial. It has a loop in it. This retro finial came from a recent estate auction. All-metal construction. Likely bronze. I am guessing mid-century for this. But cannot be sure. Size: wing tip to wing tip is 5-1/2" Finial height without base is 2-1/2" Base is maybe 5/8" wide and inserts 3/4" in. Condition: GOOD vintage. Some darkening to the original gold finish. A rusty scratch in the base which I believe to be from removing this from a rusty metal pole. Small cracks on the base of the wings from manufacture which do not affect the strength or look of this piece at all. The loop appears a little over-ground when it was dressed during manufacture. Great looking eagle in excellent condition. Has screwhole on bottom for mounting. Eagle strikes a great landing position pose. Very smooth and well made topper. Just over 6 1/2" tall. 3 1/2" from head to tail and 3" from wing to wing at the bow. It appears larger than it's dimensions to me. Probably because of the way it's posed. I have listed a Vintage Flying Eagle Bird. Wall Hanging that has a wing span of 9 inches. This has original small holes on the top of each wing, to put screws or nails into for wall hanging. This is solid brass, and a magnet does not stick to it. This is in lovely vintage condition. Offered for sale is an antique bronze flagpole topper with great American Eagle and an unusual decoration with bronze garland swag edge. It is in very good condition with natural patina from age and measures 8" tall by 7 and 1/4" wide. The opening for the pole is 1 and 5/8" This looks pretty old. Probably at least 100 years or so. Since my grandmother passed away and we are tasked with closing out the estate. But the eagle is in excellent shape. Gold in color but undetermined as to the material consistency. Again beautifully detailed and heavy.
