Up for auction today is a beautiful crystal glass finial. This piece consists of a brass bottom with the words made in and something else that can not be read. The base has four holes. Three of which are open and a decorative crystal top. The finial measures just at or under 6inches tall and measures 4inches wide. It is very possible that this piece is Baccarat but I am no expert so please bid under the impression that it is not Baccarat. Cut crystal and brass newel post finial paperweight on marble base
This is a superbly cut crystal newel post with ornate brass or bronze hardware. The newel post has been mounted on a white marble base. The post including the marble base is 6 1/8 inches high. The crystal post itself is 2 inches in diameter. It is extremely well cut and may be baccarat but we cannot find a signature. There are some tiny chips. Please see photos for details.

The finial is either clear crystal or a light purple crystal(which is the color it could turn over time) I was unable to find any company stamps or signatures. The crystal is on a brass base with cement filing. This is a heavy crystal that weighs over 3 pounds and stands around 6 1/4 inches tall. This wonderful old heavy brass finial shows a classic American Eagle with its wings outstretched. Most of the gilt is intact; I'm sure it's been exposed to the elements for years so the gile shows wear in a few areas(see photos) But it just accentuates the details such as the feathers on the wing, chest and tail. It weighs 1 1/2 pounds. And measures 4 1/2 inches across and 5 inches high including the base. The diameter of the base is 2 inches with a 1 1/4 inch screw. It would look fantastic as a decoration.
