No damages that can be seen with very bright and shiny brass finish! He stands approx. 5" tall with a 4-1/2" wingspan and a 1-3/4" diameter base. We are unsure of the the thread size where a threaded rod would be screwed into. It appears to be 2 separate cast pieces, as there is a screw on the back holding the base to the eagle. This particular piece is unmarked, so we are unsure of who originally made this. We were told when we acquired this finial that this was used at an American Legion hall here in Chicago. We are unsure if this type of finial is typical to Legion halls. Maybe you can tell us! 20 Antique Solid Brass Finials. These were purchased from an estate where most everything was from Keeler Brass Company however I am not sure these are Keeler hardware. They are all solid brass. The 10 that are alike are approx. 2" tall. The 7 that are alike are approx. 3-1/4" tall and the other 3 are 3-1/8" tall. These have been stored and never used and are in good condition but could use some cleaning/polishing from being stored so many years. If you have any questions please let me know. We found this in one of MANY boxes of lighting and door knobs etc. in my fathers basement workshop. We live in the center city Philadelphia art museum area where our 3 story federal style homes were built in the 1870s. People were always throwing the original fixtures out in the 1950s and 1960s to MODERNIZE but my father always collected them. NOW they are putting back what the last generation tore out and threw away. I dont really know anything else about this finial. Thanks for looking at my fathers finial. Great looking eagle in excellent condition. Has screwhole on bottom for mounting. Eagle strikes a great landing position pose. Very smooth and well made topper. Just over 6 1/2" tall. 3 1/2" from head to tail and 3" from wing to wing at the bow. It appears larger than it's dimensions to me. Probably because of the way it's posed. Antique solid Brass American Eagle Flag Pole Topper Finial Sculpture Statue 1890
Antique solid cast brass Eagle with two tiered dome caps with ornate cast brass curtain sash all around. The Eagle would have been used as a flag pole or lamp pole topper finial. To me it looks like it may have come off one of those old river boat paddle boats because of the ornate curtain like sash around the domes. The Eagle is cast in the old style. It is a two piece cast. The body and wings are soldered together. It is all brass and the bottom dome is painted black. The opening where the pole would go in is 2" inches across. It is in great shape with great details.

Solid brass finia l( Circa 1920) from Southern Baptist Se minary in Louisville. Kentucky. W eigh t 10lbs. Hei ght 10" 4 1/2 inches at widest part. Bottom tab s spread is 2 inches. Some pit ting and a small dent at the mid-top of the finial please see photo. Pitting in the ball at top that is noticeable. No large dents. Typical imperfect condition from the 1920's.
