These were corner post or gate finials from a prominent local institution and were salvaged by an employee years ago when the fence was removed. This is a wonderful auction for an ornate thumb Latch Door Pull Plate made by Sargent& Co. Made of cast bronze or brass with a deep pattern on the face. Handle and the thumb tab. a patent dated 1880 is seen behind it. Approximately 10"x3" The beautifully shaped back plate and handle boasts of the same design featuring double diamonds on scrolling leaves or vines on a textured background with a smooth border at the edges. The handle can be inverted for preference of orientation.

CAST METAL EAGLE FINIAL, WALL DECORATION; MADE OF IRON, BRONZE, ALUMINUM
This is a lot of two cast metal eagle items. Fresh from an estate sale filled with antiques. The larger item is possibly cast aluminum. Painted black, and has an eagle figure with wings spread, nice detail in the feathers, and two drilled holes for mounting onto a wall. It is molded with eagle leaning forward away from the wall, adding depth to this sculptural ornament. It is 20" across, 6" high and 3" deep. It has some paint loss, wear and dirt at back. This may date from the 1935 to 1945 era. The smaller item has what looks like a bronze nineteenth century eagle form on a S-scroll cast iron support. The eagle shows copper tones and some green corrosion at back. The scroll support shows signs of rust. This may have been a gate. Fence or garden ornament finial. It has sections that look like they were cut off at the very bottom ... moreof the center scrolls. This is 8.5" x 3" x.5" in size. Impressive Cast Iron Brass Bronze Newel Post Finial Victorian Eastlake Victorian
Fantastic. Impossible to find something similar item. Stands 12-5/8 tall with a sq base 4-3/4" The ball is approx. 5-1/4 in dia. Was obviously off an outside cast iron fence post,ther is rust pitting around the bottom edge where it was locked down and retained water in the gap. It does not detract from its awesome look. Use it as a stand alone decorative piece or mount it to a post inside or out. I pack well and usually ship out quickly,check my feedback and other listings for more great items.
