Featuring an orb shape made from building layers of carved wood into a round form. It bears the original old weathered gray paint. Once a complete pediment ball, probably mounted to a stand or base, it retains part of the original wooden peg threaded through the back opening which would have held the two pieces together. Condition is good with lots of paint wear. Rubbing and loss as shown- stable age related wood shrinkage cracks, and general shabbiness from age- love it! For Sale: Two Finials that are cast iron. The finials are not broken or repaired. See photo for measurements. These are used items. They have been sand blasted and do not have any paint on them They are very old- but I don't know how old. These were used on top of fence posts. The sphere diameter is 2.070 inches. Each finial is one pound in weight. The 7 UP can is a 12 OZ. size to get an idea of the size of the Finials. Nice for your garden or home. They will be packaged well. Pair Large Antique Vintage Round Brass Finials
We know that these are antique finials of some sort. But given that the bottoms come to a point, we cannot identify their actual use. Perhaps the collector will advise. We surmise that they could have been used in fireplace screens, or to top off a vintage decorative piece. The finials are brass. And have an extensive aged patina. They are in as found, all original condition. We see no damage issues such as dings or dents. The finials measure 2 1/2" in diameter and are 3 3/4" long. We try to describe our items carefully. Antique Round Wood Finial Architectural Salvage. 2 unlike sizes, 1 w/ screw
These are a couple of old round wood finials. Both 5 3/4 tall(without screw) And 1 is 3 1/2 round, and the other is 3" round. 1 has a screw and not the other. Both in great shape with the exception of the normal splitting of age. Raw solid wood, never been stained.

Up for auction are two(2) large oak finial caps with a clear finish. Each is 7 inches tall with a 5 inch diameter. I aquired the two finials at an auction house. There are no chips, cracks, seperation, broken parts, etc. The finials had been used at one time because clear wood glue residue can be seen on the undersides.
