1 Antique Shapely Cast Iron Finial This large antique cast iron finial was probably used on top of a tall steel street light pole or steel gate post. The ball has a 4 1/2" dia. The base has three square head set screws to secure it to the top of the pole. This pair is 3 1/2" high. not counting the screw) 2 1/2" across center, 6 3/4" around middle of acorn or pinecone. Screw is 1 1/4" all the way into the cap, about 1" extends beyond edge of cap. Marked Germany on each. They weigh 9.5oz each. Solid brass or bronze, a magnet does not stick, but it does to the screw part. There is some rust on the underside as shown. These would have many uses, great on a newel post, or a broken pediment on a secretary or chest or bed, on the top of bed posts. The possibilities are endless. Featuring an orb shape made from building layers of carved wood into a round form. It bears the original old weathered gray paint. Once a complete pediment ball, probably mounted to a stand or base, it retains part of the original wooden peg threaded through the back opening which would have held the two pieces together. Condition is good with lots of paint wear. Rubbing and loss as shown- stable age related wood shrinkage cracks, and general shabbiness from age- love it! Beautiful. 8" antique flame or torch architectural, fireplace or fence finial with a hollow 2 1/2" square base. I'm fairly certain that it is made of brass, which would lead one to believe it has to do with a fireplace. As you see it has a beautiful patina and where it is worn on the edges you can see the brass color coming through. This would make a beautiful, unique decorative piece. The weight is 3 1/2 lbs. Pair of Antique Vintage Heavy Brass Arrows Up for your consideration is this pair of heavy brass arrow finials.not sure what these were originally attached to. Possibly curtain rods, fence, or maybe a rooftop architectural piece. I am uncertain of the age, both are 5 7/8" tall, they are double sides with peaks on each side so they have dimension. The bases have small holes, one has an extra brass fitter around the diameter of the base and is jagged, the other does not have this piece.
