I am not sure if this is a finial or not but that is all I can deduct it must be- it is a bird/ stork/ heron with a screw bottom and made of cast iron I think it stands 3" tall and at its widest point is 2 3/4" the paint has some minor wear to it but over all it is very nice and great details.

This is a beautiful cast metal eagle. This is a finial/arhitectural piece that dates to the late 1800's/early 1900's. The piece stands approximately 18.75" high. The base of this is approximately 5.5" square. Finely detailed the wings and head have feathers that look real. The talons are wrapped around what looks like a rock. Each talon has multiple lines giving it life like qualities as well. The front of the eagle has a finely feather detailed chest with a well defined beak and eyes. Gold gilt paint makes this piece a beautiful architectural item. This could be used to accent an exterior column on a house or as a finial at the top of a staircase. Antique Steel Awning Finial 10” Gate Flag Fence Spear Metal
This vintage heavy metal finial is 10 inches long and 2-1/2 inches at its widest point. It has screw threads at its base; the ball has four decorative divots. The surface is aged. But there are no cracks or repairs– altogether in great vintage condition. I’m not sure what metal this finial is made of, but a magnet sticks to it and the piece weighs about a pound and a half. I don’t know its age or history; it was found in my father’s garage. This vintage item is packed well for safe shipping. I ship within one business day of payment– sooner if possible. I have not seen one item online(internet-ebay or anywhere) with a similar item for sale or show.My description is the best I can figure from all my research.I am not 100% sure if it is Brass Bronze or Iron although the darkened patina inside without any blue tarnish makes me rule out brass. It was purchased back in the late 60's or early 70's while on tour of the Tibetan area by a world traveler. It measures 9 1/2" Tall and 4 1/4" Wide and even though it is hollow inside weighs over 4 pounds.The armless body has holes.Possibly to attach fencing and the bottom to stand on a fence post. A nd take note of the additional information on the right side of the listin g. This finial measures about 11" tall. The rectantgular base measures 9 1/2" x 7 3/4" It weighs about 4 lb 13 oz. I am not sure where this piece came from. I obtained it as-is. It has some condition issues(beyond the heavy ruse on the base) The metal on the sphere part of the finial has torn at the top and bottom(the bottom tear is pointed out in a photo below) The two halves of the globe don't sit quite right. And can be shifted easily out of position. The central screw needs to be loosened and the parts reseated to get a get a good fit. Lot of 4 antique curtain rod brackets and 4 matching finials- 2 left and 2 right. One left finial is missing the full swirl at the end but is still suitable for use. These have a greenish finish/ patina with red painted detail. I believe these to be quite old. I have not cleaned the finish in any way- will leave that to new owner. The brackets each extend 4 inches on one end and 3 inches on the other. They all have a smaller piece w/original screw that can be adjusted. The finials are 6 inches long with approx. a 2/12 inch piece for inserting into the curtain rod. That is not included in the finial length. The broken swirl finial measures about 5 inches long so is missing about an inch of the design. No screws or mounting hardware.
