Great looking eagle in excellent condition. Has screwhole on bottom for mounting. Eagle strikes a great landing position pose. Very smooth and well made topper. Just over 6 1/2" tall. 3 1/2" from head to tail and 3" from wing to wing at the bow. It appears larger than it's dimensions to me. Probably because of the way it's posed. They are cast pewter that has aged to a warm color. They are way to heavy for aluminum and a magnet doesnt stick so pewter is my best guess. Vintage Carved Solid Wooden Acorn Finial - 2 1/2"
This wooden acorn finial looks older. But I cannot say for certain how old it may be. It stands 2 1/2 inches tall and at its widest it has a 2 inch diameter. The base has a diameter of about 1 3/8 inches and the hole in the base has a diameter of about 1/2 inch. This finial was very dry and I've cleaned it once with build-up remover and lemon oil; however, it's likely that it will dry out again. The finish is uneven and has wear and shallow scratches, which gives it a nice old patina. However, I believe that it could also be refinished. Posted with

You would have to modify/machine a insert to the threaded hole to a more standard lamp thread ~ These appear very good quality. Set of 2 Kirsch Unstained Solid Oak Wood Finials or Staircase Newel Posts
Here are a pair of unstained oak finials. Intended for a 2" 2.25" diameter wood drapery rod. However, we can see these as fitting the top of a staircase newel post or some craft project. These are approximately 5" long x 3.5" diameter(at the widest point) They have never been used and still have the plastic protective tube over the screw; however, we no longer have the original packaging. Craftsmanship is perfect and the two finials match each other exactly.
