This all original finest quality1800’s walnut desk and matching chair has been in ... moreour collection for many years. This authenticated antique desk and chair has hand carvings throughout the entire desk even including the back. There are 5 carved open compartments for organizing and a hidden drawer that opens the full length of the desk with 4 divided sections inside. The center disposal is the original period velvet sack with a hanging cord attached to a lovely ivory pearl stone set within a bronze circular ring with designs. A walnut wood weight is attached. Hand wood carvings include 2 beautiful ladies protruding from sides of desk and removable cupid on the top that is attached to the lid that covers the compartment where the clock sits. The clock has 3 different hand designs and incased in bronze. The face is a natural cream ivory? porcelain with black Roman numerals. The face is aged with some hairlines but the numerals are bold without any color loss. The clock has 2 front legs and a weighted bronze pendulum that you can view from the photo. It does move side to side and I hear ticking but is in need of adjusting. The clock is original and fits perfect to view from a circular opening made for it within the desk. This all original desk is in very good condition without repairs. It is hard to believe there are only two tips missing from the delicate finials. Located on left side underneath the desk and on the right side bottom between the legs. You will need to really search in the pictures because they are very hard to find. It is very rare to find a set. How fortunate to have this elaborate matching chair with velvet padded seat in such wonderful condition. The carvings are amazing and please view the lion and the Fiorentino symbol on the back of the chair. In my 30 years of experience I have never seen a desk set like this. Period brass tear drop pulls and pin& cove(knapp joint) ends on the drawers. All the drawers have their locks intact but no key. The front of the chest has beautiful incised carvings on the drawers and wood escutcheons. This chest is good quality, solid, sturdy and would make a great addition to any Victorian Decor. Nut missing for finial on left top drawer pull. The Eastlake furniture style as envisioned by its namesake, Charles Lock Eastlake, came about in response to his dislike of the over-the-top Rococo and Renaissance Revival styles popular during the Victorian era. Although Eastlake furniture is technically considered Victorian, being ... morepopular from 1870-1890, it breaks away from the excessive high relief carving, classical elements and numerous curves of other styles produced during this timeframe. Drop center design. 3 marble tops(gray and white, beveled edge) Marble is in good shape, ever-so-slight stains. Has 4 smaller drawers at top, 2 large drawers at bottom, and a"secret" drawer at bottom base. Has Knapp joints on drawers(see close-up) Middle drawer sticks somewhat, but can probably be fixed. Exquisite wood carvings and raised burl walnut panels. Drawer pulls are wood carved leaf design. Candle shelves on each side of mirror. On casters. Solid and sturdy. Measures 86"H x 46-1/2"W x 19"D. The original brass& ebony teardrop drawer pulls, pin& cove dove-tailing on the drawers and the original beveled edge marble tops. This 19th century dresser measures 83 inches(6 ft 11 inches) in total height from the floor to the very top of the carved crest. A width of 37 inches, and a total depth of 17 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 135 lbs. The height from the floor to the top of the marble at the sides measures 31 1/2 inches, and height from the floor to the marble at the center measures 22 1/2 inches. Be sure to add me to your! This ANTIQUE LATE 1800's VICTORIAN DRESSSER is made from solid walnut and has been refinished. It has three large drawers with a fancy skirt around the bottom on four legs with rollers. Which roll very well. On top of this are two glove boxes on each side separated by white marble. The back holds the elegant curved and bevelled mirror housed in a walnut curved frame with applied wood decoration and a special decoration extending several inches above the top of the mirror frame. There are four original leaf carved handles which are not on the piece. The buyer would have the choice of putting on handles of his choice or matching the original handles with two more. As refinished this piece is in excellent condition except for the missing two original handles. The three drawers are 36 inches wide; it is 37 inches ... morefrom floor to marble. This is a great small Victorian child's dresser. Hand painted in what was usually called the'cottage style' Piece is walnut with a shaped mirror. Two handkerchief drawers and three regular drawers. There is a repair to one of the arms that hold the mirror to the base-it was well done and is quite stable. Beautiful original finish with a smooth and mellow feel. Overall size of the piece is 23 wide, 43 high, and 13 deep. The interior drawers are 17 wide, 3.5 high, and 10 deep. The small drawers are 4.5 wide, 1.75 high, and 6.5 deep. The top two drawers are nicely bowed. Reflecting the emerging Art Nouveau movement. The four ... moreornate brass bale handles. Brass escutcheons and brass drawer locks appear to be original. The escutcheons feature a roaring lion’s head. The bureau has a solid. Grained oak top and double-paneled sides. The front skirt displays a lovely scalloped curve. The bureau rear is double-paneled. The legs sit atop four rolling casters. This would make a lovely server for a small dining area. Measurements: 33 ¼ inches high 42 inches wide 19 ½ inches deep The top shows wear and discoloration. This is a beautiful American victorian 6 drawer marble top chest with the original finish and fine detailed wooden drawer pulls. The chest is circa 1880. The chest is a good size that measures 47" wide. 21 1/4" deep, and 31 1/2" tall. The chest has the original white veined marble and original brass roller. The marble has a small 6" surface run that does not go through to the back. There are two upper drawers that are 20" wide and 6" deep. The two lower drawers are 41" wide and 8" deep. This lovely chest measures a total height of 34 3/4 inches. Total width of 38 1/4 inches and total depth of 18 3/4 inches and weighs approximately 95 lbs. We believe the white and grey veined marble top to be original and is in fine antique condition but does show some slight usage and character marks and a bottom rim chip that is common for marble of this age. The three large storage drawers each offer raised oval decorative molding and carved pulls with period dove-tailed ends. And all the locks are intact but we do not have the key, and this chest has its casters intact on all four feet to allow for easier moving within your home. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made.The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All of the drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of hand ... morerubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction.Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years.The photos show casters in the legs, they will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. This coat can be maintained simply by waxing the chest twice a year. Brass pulls contrast beautifully with the mahogany, while the turned feet offer sturdy support. Uniquely the top-right drawer offers access to a lever that opens a"hidden" drawer in the very top, middle section of the chest. Late 1800's Curly Maple Woman's Victorian Dresser with Oval Beveled Mirrors
This beautiful dresser is in servicable condition. Original beveled mirrors intact. No cracks. Center mirror swivels vertically. It is believed that the drawer hardware is original. It does not appear that it was ever refinished and therefore has a lovely patina. There are some scratches, slight warpage and small imperfections on the top surface. I bought this 35 years ago and at the time the maker's name and'1896' was faintly handwritten on the back. But the lettering has disappeared over time. Please ignore the look of the mirrors as an attempt was made to blur out the reflections. The mirrors provide a clear image. Dresser is available for inspection before bidding. Being offered for sale is this fantastic Victorian Walnut& Burl Walnut Triple Beveled Cheval Mirror Dressing Vanity circa 1880. This beautiful 19th century pieces has wonderful details and we believe it to have its original finish. Beveled mirrors and brass hardware as well as the original velvet top on the storage area below the center mirror, and the original casters intact on the base.This splendid dressing vanity features great storage areas as well as the triple dressing mirrors that can be adjusted to different angles.just a fabulous piece for a dressing room or bedroom. This vanity measures 72 1/2 inches in height from the floor to the top of the cheval mirror at the center. Height from the floor to the top of the sides with the four drawers measures 32 inches, with a total width of 74 inches with the mirrors at the sides opened,50 ... moreinches wide with the mirrors folded back, with a total depth front to back of 20 3/4 inches and this piece weighs approximately 135 lbs total but does disassemble into 6 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The cheval mirror at the center measures(actual mirror portion) 54 3/4 inches in height by 17 1/4 inches wide. Each of the folding side mirrors measures 51 1/4 inches high by 9 inches wide. Height from the floor to the top of the lift up storage compartment below the cheval mirror is 6 inches. The center cheval mirror pivots front to back to adjust for viewing and nestled in the pierced carved sides are 2 small storage cabinets each with the original beveled mirrors on the front. Flanking the cheval mirror is a stack of four drawers each with burl walnut fronts. Early dove-tailed ends and the original brass pulls. Purchased this item at an estate sale so I don't know the origin of this piece. Measures 32" W x 19" D x 44 1/2" H(49" in back) I do know that the craftsmanship is phenomenal and the fit and finish is beautiful. The piece is in average condition with some scratches and wood chipped off in places. I'm guessing the extra compartment on top was a jewelry box. The wheels are made of wood suggesting it is very old indeed. The handcarved overlays are awesome. Two drawer handles are missing.
