The carvings and details on this piece are absolutely fabulous! We can confidently attribute this outstanding Etagere to George W. Ware and Company. Boston, Massachusettes. The top of this wonderful Etagere is graced with a magnificent pierced carved crown adorned with massive fruits and nuts. Carved scrolls, a grape cluster, along with leaf and foliate carvings and pierced scrolled work. This glorious crown sits upon the substantial arc-shaped bonnet top which provides the perfect introduction to the large oval mirror. This large oval mirror is encased in beautiful picture-frame moulding and appears to be original. Plenty of display opportunity is found on the eight graduated scalloped display surfaces as well as on the larger center white marble top display area above the serpentine bottom drawer. The white marble top has beveled. Scalloped edging and is in excellent condition for its age. 22 INCH VICTORIAN SALESMAN'S SAMPLE DRESSER-1800's
The model stands 22-1/2" tall. 7-1/2 inches deep and 13-1/2 inches wide. It dates to the late1800's. This unique salesman's sample is of a Victorian dresser with mirror and lamp sconces. It dates sometime in the late 1800's and I have looked for the specific dresser but was unable to find a manufacturer. It is very similar to Eastlake dressers except for the drop center models. This is a 2 piece model but is held together with 2 nails joining the top and bottom. Over the years. This has begun to slightly wobble but can be easily fixed. This model has a wooden dresser top but I would assume the original dresser was marble. A marble top miniature would have been to heavy for a salesman to carry. I am not an expert but it appears to be made completely out of walnut. the mirror is in very good shape for the period. There is some ... morediscoloration and one small bubble but it is all reflective. The mirror is glass but has a wooden back which has protected it over the years. It has 3 sliding drawers which are held together with nails rather than dovetailing like all model furniture from that era. They slide easily. The knob handles on the dresser are intact and solid. There is a slight discoloration to one of the drawers which appears to be an area missed by the original stain but it may have been some other type of damage that I cannot tell. The back has some white paint drippings which to me means it was kept as a display after its usefulness as a sales item ended. Now it is a piece of history.

Beautiful antique Victorian or Eastlake dresser vanity. Marble tops are ivory in color and in good shape. Original ebony drawer pulls. All 4 drawers pull nicely with unique dovetail work. There is also a secret bonus drawer at the bottom that goes unnoticed. The mirror has some silvering in it. Burl wood inlays throughout. Minor wear to be found in places. But nothing terrible. The wood looks to be chestnut, but I am not positive. Great well made piece that will last many more years to come. My apologies for the somewhat awkward photos. Victorian Golden Oak Bow Front 2 Over 2 Dresser With Carved Mirror
Beautiful Golden Oak Victorian Dresser with mirror. It's 40" wide. 20" deep and about 67" high with mirror. Very nice condition. There are 2 small dark spots on the top which can be seen in photo slightly. Dove tailed construction on the drawers and hand carving on the oval mirror. On the sides of one of the bottom drawers the dove tailing is slightly warped from age and split slightly but the drawer opens and closes smoothly with no effort and is solid. If anything the color is slightly more golden than in the photos. And it is on castors. Mirror is removed easily. This is pick up only. Thanks.

Fine Eastlake Victorian Chestnut & Walnut Drop Center Dresser
Up for auction is a Victorian drop center dresser. It is special in that it is made of American Chestnut. A species that was wiped out by chestnut blight- very few mature specimens exist today. The dresser is in good condition, with the exception of a small repair(pictured) and some dings from someone's overzealous hammer use. The original beveled mirror is in good shape with some streaking as expected for a 130+year old mirror. The dresser would be a great accent piece, or could be converted to a sink basin. VICTORIAN Burl Walnut Wishbone Mirror DRESSER& Gentleman's CHEST This elegant Victorian drop front Wishbone Mirror dresser chest and matching Ladies' or Gentleman's chest is constructed of walnut with burl accents. The style is consistent with the period of"Renaissance Revival. Ca. 1860. They both have the original finish, wooden casters and working antique keys. These pieces feature Renaissance Revival/ Rococo elements including serpentine ribbed"carpenter's lace" on the edges and around the dresser's tilt mirror. They have applied hand carved drawer pulls. Escutcheons and other decorative elements in a leaf and flower design. The corners and edges are rounded. And the casings around the drawers and most edges are curved and double or triple ribbed. The dresser has a wishbone tilt mirror on pedestal ... morebase. Handkerchief drawers and three large drawers. There are turned finials on the mirror posts and spindles on the sides of the handkerchief drawers. The three large drawers lock. The chest has an upper cabinet with shelf. Probably for hats or bonnets, one small drawer possibly for gloves and another larger drawer at the bottom. The top part of the cabinet features cathedral shaped burled panel doors that close with a hook on the inside and a lock. The drawers do not lock. I purchased this piece at Antique Emporium in Modesto. California July 2003. I simply fell in love with it. The receipt I have states it is a"tiger maple dressing table with Cheval Mirror, circa 1895. I have purchased many items from these folks through the years for my personal enjoyment. I am not an expert in antiques. I do know what I like and this is a gorgeous wood very unusual to me, unlike the other pieces I have collected. I sell it now only due to a move. It is carved. Curvy, graceful, beautiful and graced my entry hall as the show piece that I think it is. I decorated it for every holiday and it is a delight for everyone.
