Old and well-used lime container part of the paraphenalia for the betel nut chewer, from the Soe District of West Timor. The lime container(Tempat Kapur) is made from buffalo horn and has been carved/incised on all sides in relief. It features two lizards/crocodiles and geometric designs. It is constructed in two pieces. Joined together and the stopper. The container still contains traces of lime inside. Lovely shiny patina from use.
