Wooden Lime Container Highland Atoni People. Belu District West Timor. Wood& pigments 3.75" X 1.5" 26 grams. Mid 20th C. SCULPTURAL ARTIFACT The body of this betelnut container is hollowed out of one piece wood using the most rudimentary of tools. The motif is a clan specific chicken motif. The patina is uneven and there is a 1" crack in the wood which does not undermine the structural integrity of the artifact.
