quite a rare shell pubic cover worn by initiated men of the papuan gulf. made of one piece of giant shell and holes were drilled trough for wearing. as clearly is seen. The cover has been worn for years an years. the holes had to be re drilled because of wear. imagine how long that takes whil the shell is quite a durable material. a native repair is visible at the bottom. what for me at least. Makes it even more atractive. its clearly a valuable item for the owner and not easily replaced. the shel is almost 7 inches high. any questions. Please ask.
