Carved Wood Souvenir Reproduction Fijian Culacula Throwing Club. This wood piece appears to be carved and has smooth and serrated edges. The wood has ... moresome age to it, so check out the photos and let me know if you would like more as you're considering this purchase. It weighs about 4 oz. I checked with an expert, and he said this is a souvenir rather than an authentic piece. Still, it's good-looking and will make a nice display item for you.

A nineteenth century stone-carved Australian Aboriginal throwing club in a form doesn't conform to any other Australian examples I've found. It has a ... moreround head that becomes slightly elliptical in cross-section as it moves toward the shaft, below which is a 5" long, slightly elliptical, scratch-roughened gripping surface, with an almost-oval elliptical shape, thusly (), for the remainder of the shaft. It measures 29 5/8" long by 1 3/4" in diameter at the fattest point of the head. The wood is a very dense closed-pore hardwood similar to that found in identified Aboriginal clubs and boomerangs I have owned. It has an old, appealing, untouched surface, with much of the marks left by the stone carving process remaining. There are a few tight age cracks, but no other condition issues.

Rare Semi-Antique Transitional Nulla-Nulla Aboriginal Throwing Stick or War Club
Rare Hand Crafted Nulla Nulla(Aboriginal Throwing Stick or Club) Created from and Pecked into Native Wood by an Australia Aboriginal Craftsman at the Yalata Mission of Southern Australia or Possibly at La Perouse* Circa: 1930s 20 1/2 inches(52 cm) long x 4 inches(10 cm) wide and 1 1/4 inch(3.2 cm) deep Condition: Very Good: This club shows some wear and may have been used for hunting or as a toy. Description; The club has excellent form and sensitive carving. The design was pecked into the wood. This method of decoration was used on throwing sticks. Boomerangs, shields and other native tools in the 1930s. They were offered to travelers and tourists as decorative items. This was encouraged by the monks of South Australian Missions so as to generate cash for the local native population. An example of this type of artifact is in the Powerhouse ... moremuseum in Sydney, Australia. The item was found in a San Francisco Bay Area estate. In the early 20 th century with very few other means of income and provision. The Aboriginal community of La Perouse was quick to engage with the new developing tourism market. They sold shell artifacts, shields, boomerangs and other items, and demonstrated boomerang throwing to the day trippers. What developed was a“transitional” culture' of production with traditional skills being employed to alter traditional objects for the new market. The production of souvenirs, such as decorated boomerangs, nulla nullas and shields grew in the 20th century with the establishment of a tram line to La Perouse in 1902, making the La Perouse Indigenous community one of the first to be involved with the tourism industry. Shipping insurance is included in the USA. Satisfaction is guaranteed. This item is guaranteed to be in the condition described. This auction is presented by Jerry Weisberg trading in tribal antiques since 1973.

19th Century Queensland Aboriginal fluted throwing club
19th Century Queensland Aboriginal fluted throwing club SIZE: 68cm x 4cm This is an early Queensland throwing club used in hand to hand combat. It is one of the best examples I have come across because of the deep well incised handgrip and very fine fluting. Usually a large section of the tip is broken off as you would expect from a throwing club however this has only the smallest amount missing so it does not detract from the beautifully tapering shape FREIGHT: The purchaser is to pay the cost of shipping and handling. This item will be sent by AIRMAIL and the cost to the USA will be $55 shipping to Europe is approx 20% more expensive. All our parcels within Australia and overseas are sent registered or with tracking depending on the most cost effective option. Superb Rare Antique Quadrangle Head Fijian Ula Throwing Club Tribal Collectable
An incredibly rare quadrangle head Fijian throwing club ula(I ula vutu) With 8 tally marks to the shaft probably representing kills( see photos) Purchased privately from an important u.k collection some 9-10 years ago. Superb patina. A very rare item, you could wait years for another. The shape of this represents the nut of the vutu tree, 19th century in age, superb geometric incised handle. Size 37cm in length. This is the only one on eBay. The previous owner paid circa £1000 for this many years ago. I got a good deal 9 years ago as he needed the money. It will be sold quickly as people will message me asking to end the item and I have private clients who will buy it due to its rarity and quality. Any questions then please message me: kavanwood@btinternet.com

Unsure if this item is African or Fijian. I was unable to find clubs from either area which used a wrap like this one. the hide appears to all one piece with no evidence or sewing or joining suggesting that it must be from a tail or leg. It does not look like cowhide. I would guess it to be pig or boar from the small amount of hair left on it. Beautifully formed with graceful onion shaped head. Excellent patina/polish from wear. 23" Long Some older cracks to shaft and head. Animal skin wrap on shaft possible native repair? Seems an unlikely place to grip it.
