The jar is cut with a ring of starbursts and is engraved with flowers and leaves. The base is rose cut. The silverplate top has some illegible pseudo-hallmarks. From the shape of the marks and the style of the jar, I judge that this biscuit jar is English, from the second half of the 19th century, circa 1875. The biscuit jar is 8 inches tall with the handle up(6 1/2 inches with the handle down) by 5 inches wide. It weighs 1 lb 12 oz(shipping weight 3 lbs) Excellent condition. No chips or cracks. Vintage Pair Of Clear Glass Apothecary Jars-One 6 Inches, One 4.5 Inches High
Both these jars have large chips in the lids. They also have indistiguishable markings on the bottoms that look to me like Anchor Hocking. The larger jar has a plastic vacuum seal lid. Both are very old and very pretty. They are bargain priced because the lids are chipped. The marbles are not included.

The top has been ground in and fits the jar very well. I doubt this could be claimed to be"Food Grade' but that does not bother me. I used them for storing dry goods. It is made from amber colored glass. This jar is square. And the top has a unique 12 point star pattern that makes for a secure grip. It measures 9 3/4" tall and 4 7/8" square. No scatches, cracks, dings or repairs. I suppose that I should call it an antique. The jar was made somewhere on the east coast way back in the last century. One can tell that the factory was not modern. There are a few bubbles. And one poppy seed size stone. A stone is a piece of the crucible or some other insulation that breaks off into ... morethe glass. There are optic lines left from the cooling process in the trap mold that they were using. I got just it just because I am a glassblower and love all kinds of unique glass products. I have quite a number of them and I am thinning out my collection to make room for other gems. The jar has lines going down the glass all the way around to give it almost a basket type appearance. It also has a wire handle for carrying. Antique Mary Gregory Hand-painted Cranberry Art Glass Jar
Up for consideration is a lovely antique. Mary Gregory, hand-painted, Cranberry art glass powder jar in beautiful condition. This exquisite piece depicting a stag in the forest has copper metal details. It stands 2 1/2" and is 3 1/4" wide. There are no chips. Scratches or major defects. The copper hinge is partly torn on the inside of the jar.The bottom of the jar shows minor wear. Three of the decorative swirls to the right of the clasp in the middle of the jar are slightly darker than rest(see last photo) This is a piece I got from an estate in Northern California from a collector of fine glass and porcelain. Offered is a nice vintage deco style cut glass powder jar with sterling silver lid with repousse lilly flowers all around edges marked on the end of one of the flowers'sterling' about 3 3/4" across at widest and 3 1/2" tall there are wear scratches and nicks on the base of the jar and there is a chip on the rim. The bottom is marked"Made In Italy" We believe it is silver plated and leaded glass but cannot guarantee it. It measures about 9" tall x 4 3/4" across. It is in good condition with tarnishing and metal wear due to age and use. It will polish up nicely with some"tlc" Please see photos for item condition.
