This listing features a super looking glass coffee jar canister. It is ribbed and embossed. The maker's marl on the bottom is the letter S(if anyone can educate me as to who the maker is. It would be appreciated) The jar stands approximately 7 1/4" with lid on. There are lots of air bubbles in the glass. I could not get the aluminum lid off and I didn't want to force it- will leave washing the inside to you. As far as I know since I can't get the lid off, there are no chips or cracks. Spode Copeland China Tea Chelsea Jar Or Urn 1886 Fleur Di Lys Brown With Unknown Foo Dog or Lion Guilded Lid Bidding is for a beautiful one of a kind Copeland Spode Ginger Jar or Urn(China Tea Chelsea) most likely made between 1886 to 1889 topped with an equally beautiful guilded lid with a dog. Lion or chinese foo dog or foo lion of unknown origin. The Spode Copeland Chelsea Jar's pattern is Brown with Gold Trim, Fleur Di Lys or Fleur Di Lis, the approximate measurements are 6" tall, 4" diameter at the top, 5 1/4" diameter at the center and 3" diameter at the base. There are no chips but there are 2 hairline cracks or scratches, one along the top inner edge or lip that holds the lid and the second is in the base. The bottom is marked Copeland Spode, Stoke On Trent, Tyndale and Mitchell Philadelphia, and 1/4529. I ... moresent pictures of this beautiful rare Spode jar or urn to the archive in Stoke on Trent. England. Their response was as follows: According to the book. Spode and Copeland Marks and Other Relevant Intelligence' by Robert Copeland, the Spode manufacturers mark was in use between approximately 1880-90. From a search on the internet, it would appear that Tyndale and Mitchell operated between 1876-1889. The pattern is Fleur de Lys pattern which has been produced in various colours, on different shapes and on different bodies since 1852, with different pattern numbers. The pattern number on your piece is 1/4529 which was first introduced in 1886. The entry in the pattern book states‘China Tea Chelsea as 1/4365 but printed in brown and finished with gold edge only’ Chelsea refers to the shape used and the entry in the pattern book for 1/4365 shows your pattern. I have consulted with the former curator of the Spode Museum Trust, who thinks that the lid is probably from a different object. I have no information as to the history of the guilded dog. Antique Early 1900's Cut Glass Powder Or Dresser Jar With Brass & Cloisonne Lid
The jar has no makers names or marks. There is a 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch chip on one of the feet and some smaller chips on the feet. The brass lid has a small dent. The enamel on the cloisonne lid is in good condition and I do think it is original because it fits so well. The jar is 4 1/2 inches tall and 4 inches wide. Satisfaction is guaranteed and if there is a problem just let me know and I'll take care of it. I do not end my auctions early so please don't ask also don't ask me to. This auction is for a set of 2 Vintage Koeze Glass Apothecary Jar/Storage Canisters. This jar stands 9 1/4" tall. Is 4 1/2" square on all sides and weighs 2 1/2 lbs. The bottom third of the container consists of a cut, waffle-like pattern while the lid and bottom both have starburst designs. The bottom also has'KOEZE' embossed in raised lettering. The paper label on the outside reads'KOEZE' ESTABLISHED 1910' These are really beautiful jars and are in excellent used condition. The glass is clear. Bright and shiny and the clear gasket seal on the lid is snug and air-tight.

They have everything in the book offset mold lines.Bubbles,wavy glass look and they have thick or wavy bases one is way thicker than the other. Beautiful Antique Art Glass Enameled Bristol Ecru Glass Dresser Jar Box
This beautiful Bristol Glass Ecru Colored Dresser Box measures about 7.75" tall and about 3-3/8" in diameter. It does have some small chips to the inner rim of the lid and jar. The enamel loss and the substantial wear to the base shaw the age of this piece and that it was used. I dated this piece to the early twentieth but it could be a bit earlier.

Cylinder form and flared rim. The exterior has a fantastic selenium deep ruby or cranberry mauve tint. The glass is 1/8 inch thick and the base is flat with blown glass swirl. It holds 2.1/2 qts. of water up to the neck. Below I have listed the information that I have found on this type of canning jar. Pickles& Preserved Foods Next to the discovery of fire. Some of the more important inventions to mankind were the development of techniques for the long term preservation of food without rapid spoiling. The use of largely inert glass to store food was an inevitable progression in that quest and dates back to ancient times in the Old World and the earliest ... moredays of European settlement in the New World(Lief 1965; McKearin& Wilson 1978) The very early American(or European) wide mouth bottle/jar pictured to the right is most likely an early food storage vessel, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. I purchased these at an estate sale because I thought they were unusual and very pretty. But I don't know much about them. I've listed one here, but have 4 more available if you're interested. Measure about 9" tall without lid x 4" opening at top ad 6 1/4" in overall diameter. I don't know quite how to describe these. They are hand blown and I think etched glass- maybe end of day glass, but would welcome any information or ideas you're willing to share with me. Glass is imperfect; bubbles and imperfections. The lid pictured here is chipped. Trying to figure out which lid matched which jar is like a jigsaw puzzle! Some sit inside top of jar and some kind of perch on top. The knobs on some of the lids are very crooked. The etched design is continuous all around the jar. Old Green Glass Ribbed Jar / Canister with original hinged Lid, PATAPLDFOR
No cracks or chips. 8.5" tall and 6.5" wide(square) Opening is 4.5" dia. Jar and lid weigh 56.12oz PATAPLDFOR on lid shown in picture 5. I removed the hinged screw on lid to clean the glass and I have given up trying to get it back on straight. It screws on fine but not level. Shown in picture 7. I will leave it for the new owner who probably already knows a trick or two that I don't to get it on correctly. If you have any questions please ask.

Antique VICTORIAN Hand Painted Glass BISCUIT CRACKER JAR w Silverplated LID N.Y
Here is an elegant antique Victorian hand painted glass biscuit or cracker jar with a silver plated lid and fancy embossed silver plated handle. The piece measures 6-1/4" high. 8-1/4" high with the lid on, and 10-1/2" high with the handle up by 5-3/4" in diameter. The hand painted flowers are very well executed. The piece retains it's original silver plated lid, which is marked: VAN BERCH SILVER PLATE CO. QUADRUPLE PLATE ROCHESTER, N.Y. in a circle and bears the# 3105. The piece is in excellent used condition, no chips or cracks to the glass and no dings or dents to the metal. I have not polished this piece, so I am not sure about the condition of the silver plating itself. A lovely example of the Victorian era for your home or collection!
