I could have sold these early 1900's Candy Store Counter display jars seperate. But the have been together for so long I'am listing them in one sale with no reserve! Each hand blown glass jar measures 5 1/2" base dia x 12" total ht including the lid. The tin lids are embossed with a great looking Art Nouveau/ Art Deco design and the sides are punched with the name"Rowntrees Gums" on the front& back side. Since the display jars are hand blown one jar weighs 2.1 lbs and the other one is over a pound heavier weighing 3.3 lbs. Both are still in ex condition however one jar has two nicks on the inside edge of the top rim( see last two pics) Both nicks are well concealed when the lid is firmly in place.

Art Nouveau Cambridge 1895- early 1920s Sterling silver overlay on 2 Teal crystal bowls. These were decorated in sterling silver[marked as such both on a label on one of them. And'sterling' in the silver of each of them. by the National Silver Deposit Ware Co. out of NY. These were done during the first period of silver overlay, between 1895 and 1925, see history section, below] with a nice Art Nouveau style of flowers and butterflies. They are six inches tall and six inches wide. And have black footed bases. please look at all the pictures carefully as they are a part of the description. Although unmarked as such. My research seems to point to the bowls themselves being most likely made by Cambridge, which National Silver did their sterling decorations for. This is a gorgeous pair, and extremely rare from what i could find about ... morethem. I truly hate to sell them! In 1889. The decorative technique of applying silver designs to glass was patented by Oscar Pierre Erand and John Benjamin Round for Stevens& Williams Ltd in Birmingham, England. It had the shortcoming that the reverse side of the silver next to the glass would tarnish and turn dark. In 1893, a patent was registered in the US by John H. Sharling of New Jersey, which had the distinct advantage that the reverse side was white and stayed that way by utilizing electroplating. He shared his methods with everyone and silver overlay came to its first peak in the early 1900's. There were two distinct eras of Silver Overlay. From 1895 to the early 1920's, this art had its own avid following and became a decorative rage. But during this first era, it was very labor intensive and expensive and this period was over by the mid-1930's. Glass Collector's Digest records that the cost to produce a decanter made in the early 1900's was.90 cents for the glass blank. $4 worth of silver, and $5 for the added labor for the silver overlay design. A revival of silver overlay followed immediately after WWII that lasted until the late 1950's. A

Gorham sterling Art Nouveau Morning Glory top hand decorated glass biscuit jar
This is an antique biscuit jar that I purchased from a local estate. It is 6 3/4" tall and 4 3/4" wide. The lid is maked sterling and I believe it has a Gorham hallmark. The lid has some dents that I believe could be worked out by someone with the proper tools and expertise or could be left alone. Pictures tell the story. Art Nouveau Figural Pewter Mounted Glass Urn
T his beautiful candy dish has intricate piercings of flowers and scrolls and a figural dolphin finial. The pewter is mounted on a olive green glass with 4 strappings. The base is footed and it has a smooth pontil. There is no sign of maker but it is of European origin. Possibly Germany, and dates to the late 19th century. It measures 9 inches high and 4 1/4 inches at the widest. The only damage noted is the dolphin is slightly pushed in on top. It really isn't noticeable. The glass is in great condition with no chips or cracks and the pewter has a lovely patina. A gorgeous decorative antique!

Trinket Dresser Antique Jar cut/pressed glass with metal lid Art Nouveau Style
Up for your consideration is a beautiful heavy crystal with metal lid powered/dresser jar. The jar has a lovely fan cut design with a thumbprint and V cut bottom edge and measures over 2 1/4" tall x about 3" in diameter. The top I am unclear on it is some type of metal/tin. The top measures about 3 1/4" in diameter and has some weight to it. The crystal jar is in excellent condition and the lid has some patina and a few scratches from use. It is a beautiful antique vanity powered jar.

Romantic Art Nouveau Dresser Jar* This lovely antique Art Nouveau Era dresser jar is sparkling clear pressed glass with bold starburst and ribbed wheat sheath designs. Silverplate over brass(I believe) repousse cap with a rose basket holding female adorned with flowing locks. The vanity jar measures 4" at it's widest x 3 3/8" tall. 2 1/4" mouth opening, 2 5/8" base, found in the attic of a c1840's farm house, and comes to you as found with scattered dents to the cap and wear to the bottom of the glass base as shown, no makers marks are visible. Antique Bulldog Humidor Silver Glass Art Nouveau Victorian Cigar Tobacco Jar
Antique Silverplated Bulldog Humidor with Glass/Crystal Base This beautiful humidor has a heavy base of thick molded glass with a starburst design on the underside. The glass has a few scratches but is in great condition for its age. The lid is silverplated metal with a bulldog sitting by a spray of leaves and flowers. The silverplate shows wear with some spots that are darker(silver worn off? I found a 2013 ebay sale of one of these and that seller dated the item as from the 1890's. But I am not sure. It weighs a heavy 3 pounds 6 ounces! Including the lid. It stands 7 1/4 inches tall and is 5 inches in diameter. Please let me know if you have questions. Thanks for looking!
