The computer company) IBM purchased the ... moreDayton Scale Company in 1933 and sold it to Hobart Manufacturing Co. in 1934. So this scale was built in about 1933 and is about 81 years old. What a history and what a great item to have if you like to display(or even use) antiques like this. As you can see in the photo, the Dayton and IBM names are printed right on the scale. The scale is Style No. 167 and has a 5lb capacity with weight reading on one side and computing sale price information on the other side. Both scales are protected by glass which is fully intact. There has been no restoration of this scale. It is, with normal wear and tear, in its original condition. The scale is 15" high by 15" long by 4" wide and weighs about 20 lbs. The tray is 12" by 8.5" by 3" The circular green inspection label on the front of the scale reads that the scale was inspected for proper calibration during June 1940 by a Belmont, MA inspector. The serial no. of the scale is 1065767. The scale is in good working condition(the moving parts do so smoothly) however, it has not been calibrated in recent times. This scale is a rare find which can be restored or simply left as is shown in the pictures.

DESCRIPTION Up for your consideration is a Lot of THREE(3) Antique Vintage Drugstore Counter Display Candy Glass APOTHECARY Jar STOPPERS. PLEASE NOTE. The last picture shows the collection of lids and stoppers I have up for auction. You are bidding on the lids in the 1st 9 pictures. The pointed knob lid measures 4.5" tall. 6" in diameter on the inside rim(outside to outside) and a tad under 7" on the outside rim. It is stamped PAT D on the lid and has some knicks on the inside rim. The domed lid. Which I think belongs to a banned apothecary jar, measures 4.5" tall, 5.25" in diameter on the inside rim(outside to outside) and a tad under 6" on the outside rim. It does have some knicks and feels rough to the touch on the inside rim. There is a small knick on the knob. The light purple frosted rim lid measures 2.75" ... moretall and 4" in diameter on the bottom rim(outside to outside) It is stamped PATEN(backwards N)T APPLIED FOR on the lid. The top outer rim does have some tiny knicks. But the bottom rim does not. Please note that measurements are approximate. I double box and pack very well. 2 Antique Rowntrees Gums~Art Nouveau Glass Candy Store Counter Jars & Lids!
I could have sold these early 1900's Candy Store Counter display jars seperate. But the have been together for so long I'am listing them in one sale with no reserve! Each hand blown glass jar measures 5 1/2" base dia x 12" total ht including the lid. The tin lids are embossed with a great looking Art Nouveau/ Art Deco design and the sides are punched with the name"Rowntrees Gums" on the front& back side. Since the display jars are hand blown one jar weighs 2.1 lbs and the other one is over a pound heavier weighing 3.3 lbs. Both are still in ex condition however one jar has two nicks on the inside edge of the top rim( see last two pics) Both nicks are well concealed when the lid is firmly in place.

Antique heavy glass apothecary candy display jar in a lovely light colonial blue tint. Measures approximately 10" tall with lid. 5-3/4" across the lid's widest distance, 5-1/2" across the rim and 4" across the base. Weighs 4 lbs. Very Good Condition. There are a couple of scratches to note. One is about 1/2" long near the lid knob handle. The other is a curvy line scratch that measures approximately 1-1/2" on the inside base. In both cases these are on the inside and appear to have occurred in manufacturing. There is one 1/8" scratch on the top outside of the lid. There are a couple of very fine scratches on the jar itself but they are only noticeable when looking very closely in direct bright light. Due to their location and/or their size. Offering an antique mold blown square/ rectangle shaped American drugstore counter candy jar circa 1890s in fantastic condition. Stands approx. 11 1/4" tall. Ribbed starburst lid fits perfect and is original to the jar. No chips. Cracks, etc. other than a few air bubbles in the glass which are not open. Jar has a fantastic blown rolled lip at top as shown in photos. An early one!

Very nice. Very old and extremely hard to find hand blown glass candy or possibly medicine jar. Jar is in very good shape no chips or cracks, pontil mark on the bottom with some bubbling and imperfections, the lid is mold blown and has a hand ground edge and full of small bubbles it does show some ware from use through the years, it appears in the pictures to have a chip on the edge of the lid but it is an imperfection, it has been ground and not clean as a chip would appear.

Antique general store candy jar with tin lid. Large thick glass(1/4" candy jar with original tin lid and knob. No chips or cracks. Which is amazing.Lid pulls off to get to the penny candy. The jar is made to lean forward for candy jar or stands upright for a pickle jar. The lid is also in great condition. I did not try to clean lid which keeps it natural patina. I'll leave this up to the new owner. The measurements are the following. When counter jar is in a upright position it measures 10 1/2"in height and is about 10 1/2"wide x 6 1/2"to top of lid. It stands just under 11 inches tall with the lid and about 8 inches without. The circumference of the jar at the widest is about 22 inches. It is hand blown so there are slight imperfections in the glass. The lid is rough around the edges where the glass was hand cut. But there are no chips.
