C.F. Monroe Wavecrest Biscuit/Cracker Jar with Lid (1890s)
As a senior citizen it is now time for me to downsize and let go of old treasures- this belonged to my mother who was the best biscuit maker on the planet(or at least in SC) This is a lovely antique art glass cookie or biscuit jar that dates from the late 1890s- 1910 or so. CF Monroe referred to this design as"Billow Ware" in its early catalogues; it is now more commonly referred to as"egg crate. This particular style is unique to CFM. Although the company purchased its blanks from other manufacturers, notably Mt Washington-Pairpoint. The biscuit jar is unsigned; many of the company's earlier pieces were NOT signed. The jar is PERFECT! There are no chips. Cracks, or repairs and the lid sits solidly on the top(no bending) The top of the silver rim of the jar has wear and surface scratching due to age. Antique 1890's Smith Brothers Satin Glass Dogwood Floral Cracker Buscuit Jar
TYPE: cracker jar COLOR: yellow. Pink and green FEATURES: Smith Brothers glass was made after 1878. Alfred and Harry Smith had worked for the Mt. Washington Glass Company in New Bedford. Massachusetts, for seven years before going into their own shop. They made many pieces with enamel decoration. Most pieces in this category are from the 1880s to 1900. Glass coloration includes a medium yellow with graduation into white. This features blooming dogwoods with handpainted enamel raised accents, ornate swirling pattern lid with distinct finial. MATERIAL: glass/porcelain MEASUREMENTS: 10" tall to tip of handle x 6" wide CONDITION: Excellent. Antique. This piece was rescued from an estate and will need additional careful cleaning. Dad often would make a card on some of their more special items, the following is from his writeup: Loetz cracker jar. 5" diameter by 6 1/2" high to top of lid. Silver carrying bale has unique type hinge arm that lifts lid when bale is tipped back. Bale is mounted to rim. All silver plate. Jar is pastel blue/green with strong iridescence and dark-purple all-over threading. This an unusual piece with truly beautiful glass. The color. Although delicate, is much stronger than is shown in pictures, perhaps because of lighting. The contrast between threading and iridescent glass is more subdued. Condition: Very nice condition. Here is an elegant antique Victorian hand painted glass biscuit or cracker jar with a silver plated lid and fancy embossed silver plated handle. The piece measures 6-1/4" high. 8-1/4" high with the lid on, and 10-1/2" high with the handle up by 5-3/4" in diameter. The hand painted flowers are very well executed. The piece retains it's original silver plated lid, which is marked: VAN BERCH SILVER PLATE CO. QUADRUPLE PLATE ROCHESTER, N.Y. in a circle and bears the# 3105. The piece is in excellent used condition, no chips or cracks to the glass and no dings or dents to the metal. ANTIQUE GENERAL MERCANTILE SPERICAL GLASS NATIONAL BISQUIT COOKIE/CRACKER JAR
Up for bid is the second of two listed antique general mercantile spherical glass. Counter jars. This one was originally made by the National Bisquit Company, and it too, has not only a flat bottom but a flat top to boot. The jar stands approximately 9" high and 10" in diameter. Unfortunately, the original lid has been lost, I'm was told, before it was purchased by the folks I got the jars from, however, the owner, who I might add is very talented, was able to turn a very nice lid on his lathe and it is made of walnut. The lid has a knob in the center made of porcelain. I've shown in the last couple pics, this jar, as well as the other on another listing stacked on top of each other, so you can see how they look. In some of the pics, I placed a piece of paper or cardstock inside the jar, so that you can see the embossed ... morelettering of the"National Bisquit Company's name and logo on the glass. A nice jar all around and a great collectible piece for the kitchen. ANTIQUE GENERAL MERCANTILE SPHERICAL GLASS CRACKER / COOKIE JAR w/ALUMINUM LID
Up for bid is a nice condition antique spherical. General mercantile glass counter jar, with it's original aluminum lid. The jar stands at around 10" high x 10" in diameter. The bottom of the jar is flat so that multiple jars could be stacked underneath to keep the counter space open for other items or set flat all by itself. This is one of the jars often seen in general trade or mercantiles of old western movies, where parents would open the lids and allow the kids to grab handfuls of penny candy. There is a small ding or crack on one side of the jar, but it was repaired, a long time ago, so that no further glass would be lost. While it's not the prettiest repair I've seen, it's more towards the back and if you fill the jar, one will never see the crack. A nice item to place in the kitchen for your kids for their ... moreafter school snack. Up for bid is a lovely. Simple, Victorian biscuit box or cracker jar with twisted silver-plate handle and lid. This is an unsigned piece but has the quality of fine glass such as Burmese, Peachblow, Webb, Mt. Washington, or even Wavecrest. I'm not an expert in any of these glass types- I'm more up to speed with clear glass- but in looking at examples of each, this jar looks most to me like Peachblow or Burmese glass and I'm taking an educated guess as to age- 1890- 1910? Isn't that the main characteristic of Peachblow and Burmese glass? The inside of the jar is white. I have gently washed the piece to get the majority of dirt and spotting off but it could use another cleaning which I'm leaving for the new owner. Same goes for the silver-plate handle and rim edge. It has NOT been touched and needs cleaning; the plating appears to be intact and should be beautiful when cleaned. There are NO condition issues to note with this piece; it's perfect. As mentioned, the jar itself is unsigned but the underside of the plated lid is marked as follows: looks like a capital MW, the number 4404, and something in script(I think) that looks like"fa" This subtle. We are offering a 5 3/4" to the top of the lid(5 1/4 to the top of the glass) heavy crystal glass jar with a gold colored metal lid. Both the jar and lid are in excellent pre-owned condition with no chips. Cracks, scratches, or staining to the glass and no dents or bends to the lid. We don't know what metal the lid is made of but a magnet does not stick. The jar has arches and every other arch has hexagonal hobnails. The glass is very clear and we do not see any lines, which would be expected in pressed glass. On the bottom side of the lid is a metal sponge or bread holder to control the moisture, which could be used for tobacco, cookies, crackers, and possibly candy. The glass and lid seem almost too ornate for a humidor but we are not certain what it was originally designed for. Rare Vintage Art Glass 1950s Fenton Blue Daisy & Fern Cracker Jar Biscuit Barrel
This listing is for a rare Vintage LG Wright/ Fenton Biscuit Barrel. It measures about 6.5" tall to the top of the finial. And it is 7.5" tall to the top of the handle while the handle is up. It does have patina to the silver-plated parts but the glass is in very nice condition. It is a very rare piece.

A very nice silverplate cracker jar made by Rockford Silver Company. There are no dents or scratches. It is in beautiful shape. The silverplate is in wonderful condition. It is marked on the bottom Rockford Quadruple, has a scale and a number 400. It measures 10 inches high and 7 inches around. A wonderful piece to add to any collection.I have had it in my collection for some time.

Beautiful pink satin glass cracker/ biscuit jar in a quilted pattern with silver-plate lid. This stunning mid to late 1800s jar features a beautiful quilted pink glass pattern in a stain finish with a silver-plated lid. Silverplate lid is by W. R. Rogers and is in nice condition. Unique hard to find piece. Jar measures about 6 1/2 inches tall; about 6 inches in diameter. BACKSTAMP: No markings on jar; silverplate lid reads Quadruple New York- W R 756. CONDITION: Beautiful given the age- no cracks. Hairlines or crazing on the glass jar- one 1/4" chip on rim- but you don't see it when the lid is on. Vintage Green Glass Large cookie Jar/ Uncle Ezra's/Cracker Barrel 4 Quarts
Cracker Barrel green glass tall jar. It has embossed in the glass" Cracker Barrel style. Full value always fresh 4 quarts" and a wheat bushel. Have had this jar for 20 years plus is in very good vintage condition, no damage to the glass jar or lid, the white rubber does show signs of age as it is worn and cracked but this piece is easily replaced, the jar is 11.5" tall 5.5" at the base diameter and 3.75" at the mouth opening. Great vintage piece! Bought at a local antique shop, I am down sizing my kitchen and this is part of my collection. Shipping price includes insurance and tracking.

IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, THE JAR IS LARGE AND MEASURES 10" TALL X 10" DEEP X 7" WIDE. THE GLASS HAS A SLIGHT YELLOW TINT TO IT. THE LID IS TIGHT FITTING WITH LATCH AND HAS ORIGINAL PATINA.
