The jar was perhaps used to hold sweetmeats or other foods. The sides of the jar are decorated with a nice diamond-cut pattern and vertical cuts. The lid is in the form of a wide-brimmed hat with a pretty cut glass ball at the top. The jar has a polished pontil on the bottom. There is wear to the bottom of the jar. As can be expected of such antique cut glass. This piece was made between 1775 and the 1820s. The condition is excellent. The lid is in fabulous shape. The jar is in great shape as well. There are a few minor fleabites and flakes here and there to the jar. Especially to the teeth. None of them are very visible. The bottom of the jar has a ... morefew swirled air bubbles in it. This could have been used for candy. Tea, tobacco or? This has the English Registration mark on the inside impressed into the glass that was used between 1842-1867. This is in excellent condition with no chips cracks or repairs but it does have a line on the bottom which was caused during the manufacturing process. This is not damage. This Depression Era covered powder box measures 4-1/4 inches in diameter. It is about 2-1/2 inches tall. The lid has a small chip on the inside edge of one of the points. Rare Mid 1800's Victorian Era Antique Cut Lead Crystal Glass Jar w lead? Lid
Antique vanity powder or cream jar has been in the family for over a century. The lid is approximately half a pound in weight. The jar itself is approx. 1lb. Measures approx. 4" tall x 4" wide.The underside looks like cast molded lead or pewter and the top side looks like it could have copper in it. So basically I'm saying that I don't know what it's made of. This belonged to my great great great grandmother and was possibly brought to the USA from Germany. I've tried to look it up and cannot find anything like this one. If anyone has any information they can share with me, I'd appreciate it. In the meantime, feel free to make an offer. ROYAL BLUE GLASS VANITY JAR WITH LID AND A CRYSTAL STEM
This is a very pretty vanity jar. It is Royal blue or Cobalt blue and the stem is clear crystal attached and swirled up from the stand to the blue glass. This stands 9" tall with the lid and 6 1/2" with out the lid. The biggest part around the middle is 12" around. This appears to be a hand blown glass jar there are no seams from a mold. There are no marks on it so I don't know who made it. It is in great shape there are no chips or cracks. Beautiful color of deep dark blue could be Royal or could be Cobalt either one it's very pretty.

Finely crafted hand cut crystal jar, with cut crystal stopper, and hinged sterling silver lid with a red glass cabochon set in the top. Clearly marked as Blackington, showing the B with the sword through it, and the line marking of 7956. I'm not exactly sure what this jar would have been used for, I'm not sure if it's a condiment jar, or possibly a vanity jar of some sort. Measures 3.25" tall. Beautiful condition, hasn't been polished at any recent time, nice aged oxidation, design is still nice and crisp, was never over polished, the hinge is nice and snug and the lid does not flop around, and it snaps closed into place very precisely ... moreand securely. The glass stopper is the original, fits snugly into place. The Crystal has a hand cut start design on the bottom, and an ornate pattern engraved across the entire outside surface. At one point the lid had a small shallow dent in a 1/4" spot, but it appears to have been cautiously pushed back out, and is for the most part unrecognizable aside from the black tarnish that had once gathered in the dent. The red glass cabochon is actually set into a sterling silver bezel, it is not just glued into place. Essentially perfect condition. Items guaranteed to be as described. Beautiful crystal cut glass glue pot with sterling top. Can not find a hallmark on the lid but it is definitely sterling. Measures 3 3/4 inches high. Very NICE cut glass pattern and there are some minor tiny. Tiny chips. I could not see them until I looked with a magnifying glass. Great old used condition. Few dings in the sterling lid. Antique Vintage Old Country Store Glass Jar Ball Display Crystal Ball Like 1940
Unusual glass jar that was used for display years ago in a variety of ways. I have seen them used as a display for a rose preserved in a liquid. This one as great old glass and stands on the lid gracefully. The lid is so old that it has some rust spots on it. Measures 6 1/2 inches high and 6 inches across at its widest spot. Great display for any season or even a child would have fun putting their treasured items inside.

American cut crystal glass based and sterling silver topped powder and hair receiver jars. Early 20th. century art deco design. Powder jar has monogram of three Greek letters. Set in lozenge form. Word STERLING appears on rims with maker's mark of: C.W. and arrow. 3" tall and 3 3/4 diameter. Silver weight approximately: 2 oz's. Simple square indent design form around edge of silver tops, with invented corners. NB: some minor dents and scratches and silver not recently polished. Otherwise in good condition for age and use.
