This auctions jar is a real nice ball blue square quart. the base is a 10 mold, there is a good old zinc cap that comes with this jar, I have checked the jar carefully and can find little case wear or use scratches from my close exam. This jar was barely,if ever used. no nick,crack,sickness, etc. This style of jar was always a favorite of mine, they pack together so tightly when square! Antique GERMAN APOTHECARY Flow Blue COVERED Jar pot Container BEEHIVE MARK
This attractive antique apothecary jar measures about 6" high to the rim. 7.5" to the top of the lid, and about 4.5" in diameter. Over time, putting the lid on and off has worn down the glaze on the top rim a bit and something has stained the upper inside edge(see last photo) However, this staining cannot be seen from the outside with the lid on(except for a tiny bit you can see in the photo of the back of the jar just under the edge of the lid) Otherwise, the jar is in excellent condition with no other staining, and no chips, cracks nor crazing. The lid itself is in excellent- almost mint- condition. The two rows of under-glaze cobalt blue floral decoration have flowed nicely. Giving the jar a warm, soft look. I do not know what was stored in this jar(Erblen? Frblen? Grblen? If anyone knows, I would certainly appreciate hearing ... morefrom you! I do not know who made this jar. There are four marks on the underside. One is a hand printed number 74 under glaze in the same flow blue as the design. Two partially impressed marks appear to be two bars under the beehive/triangle mark. And what looks like a capital L or number 7. The last mark is the under-glaze maker's mark in a blue/green-gray. It is a shield(aka'beehive' inside a round-cornered triangle. Three sides have writing, but I can only make out DEPOSE on one side- which is a French word, so it could possibly be French. One side I cannot make out at all and the third side has a word that looks like it ends in UTTY. Again, if anyone can help, I'd appreciate hearing from you! Antique heavy glass apothecary candy display jar in a lovely light colonial blue tint. Measures approximately 10" tall with lid. 5-3/4" across the lid's widest distance, 5-1/2" across the rim and 4" across the base. Weighs 4 lbs. Very Good Condition. There are a couple of scratches to note. One is about 1/2" long near the lid knob handle. The other is a curvy line scratch that measures approximately 1-1/2" on the inside base. In both cases these are on the inside and appear to have occurred in manufacturing. There is one 1/8" scratch on the top outside of the lid. There are a couple of very fine scratches on the jar itself but they are only noticeable when looking very closely in direct bright light. Due to their location and/or their size. Item Description FAST& FREE SHIPPING! Up for offer is a very detailed& gorgeous Cobalt Blue Glass Dresser or Powder Jar. This is not a small patch box ~ I would call this a"large" size jar. It has a beautiful floral enamel decoration on the lid with gold accent and beaded flower design surrounding the lid and the jar. There is a delicate painting of a plump little cherub ~ the detail is amazing! I do think that there was likely a very detailed scroll type design inside the open blue area on the lid but it is all worn away now. I say this because as you inspect it very closely you can see a few wavy lines at the very edges. There are a few very shallow marks in the glass here and there which look like tiny popped bubbles and you will see one on the lid. The jar opens and closes easily with a snap. All the hardware is secure ... moreto the jar and the hinge intact. There is light wear to the bottom underneath from moving around on surfaces. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs to the jar. It is most likely c. late 1800's and again in a very typical Czech/Bohemian style but I have also seen some Italian Glass with similar designs as well. It is 2 3/4 inches tall to the top of the domed lid and it is 4 1/2 inches across at the widest part. Antique Blue Slag Glass 5.5" Lidded Jar Canister Bottle Pot, Patented 1907
This offering is for an antique blue slag glass jar with a metal lid. The lid says Pat. June 11. 1907. It all stands 5 1/2" tall and has a diameter at its widest of about 4" My in-laws bought it many years ago, sometime prior to 1960, in Corydon, Iowa. I know that because of a label that was on the bottom. I removed it to see if the bottom was marked. It is marked, but I haven't been able to identify it-2 small raised dots stacked with an oblong dot. No flaws are visible on this jar until the lid is removed. Then it's obvious that the rim is chipped, as shown in photos 4 and 5. The bottom looks like there are some little nicks, but they are flaws that were glazed over-nothing shows when sitting on flat surface and all is smooth. I will ship this USPS Priority Mail. I have an intact aqua blue BALL Ideal jar with the pat. date reading July 14. 1908. has the clamp down lid completely intact I found it this past wknd. this particular one does have a bit of rust/ corrosion on the clamp but it's an awesome piece. Unique antique French opaque blue glass biscuit jar
For the collector of biscuit jars. This is a unique addition. It is found in the south of France and has a very soft blue tint and a distinct pillow pattern. The jar has a metal lid and plain handle. The piece is in good condition, glass is intact without cracks or chips, the lid has a very faint 1/8” split on the edge and the rim has a small ding and oxidation along the glass edge as shown.
