Antique FRENCH CUT GLASS POWDER BOX Lid Gold Filled w Stones& Fine Enameling Now for your consideration we have an Antique French Cut Glass Jar with a Gold Filled Lid with Stones and Intricate Gold Work with Heavy Enameling! This is a very beautiful jar! The gold lid has a richness from the gold filling. It is possibly a powder Jar. It measures 3 7/8" tall. Approx. 4" across, is 11 1/2" in circumference at its widest point. The heavy lead crystal bottom has approx. 30 very deep wedge cuts all around. The high points of these cuts are also cut many times on each wedge. The bottom is cut in deep cuts to make rays in a circle. There are no chips, or cracks in the glass at all. The lid fits securely and is gold filled and marked as that. It has a Fleur-De-Lis that is raised and edged in beautiful gold work-swirls and filled ... morewith enameling of green and white. That is surrounded by raised gold work containing purple stones(missing 1 of the smaller stones) There are larger and smaller stones. There are kind of bee-shaped forms in a circle that alternate with the stones. The colors in the bee shapes are separated by tiny gold beading and filled with enameling. The colors used in the bee shapes are blue, white, red and dark blue-each color held in tiny gold beading as in cloissone! There is 1 tiny indent at the side of the lid and the one missing small stone. Everything else is just perfect! The stone and the dent are so small as to be hardly noticeable. FABULOUS ANTIQUE FRENCH RARE LARGE (OVER 11 INCHES) MOLDED AQUA GLASS OLIVE JAR
VINTAGE FRENCH TIME WORN TREASURES This is just beautiful. It is a rare antique French green/ aqua glass. That I was informed was used for olives. The glass itself if fabulous. It looks to be molded glass as I can see the line running up the side but I would imagine that it dates to sometime in the late 1800's. It is full of bubbles and imperfections. On photograph 3. You will see what looks to be a crack but it is not. Both sides of the glass are perfectly smooth and you cannot feel any crack on the surface. There are also some dark green spots in the jar where there must have been a firing flaw when the glass was made. They are large- I have a clear glass one also. Please check out my! This beautiful antique clambroth color opaline glass lidded jar or box dated to late 19th century. There is no mark on it. So I'm having a hard time to figure out who made it. This type of glass were produced all over Europe- France, England, Bohemia and Italy a few of the countries who produced this type of glass at that time. Based on the shape, color and quality I believe it was made whether in France or England- Bristol. Both pieces(lid and jar) are hand blown with pontil marks, which is polished on jar and slightly rough on the lid. The lid is hollow inside and can serve as a miniature vase. The jar stands 8 inches high with lid on, it is approx. 4 inches in diameter at the widest. The piece is in excellent condition, considering the age, no chips, cracks or repair. FABULOUS HUGE ANTIQUE FRENCH MOULD BLOWN GREEN GLASS PICKLE JAR 11½" TALL
FATIGUED FRENCH FINDS fatiguedfrenchfinds This is a superb antique French 19 th century large green glass mold blown pickle jar. It is very large at 29cms or 11½” tall! The top diameter is 11cms or just over 4¼” The base diameter is 13.5cms or 5¼” It weighs 1.600kgs. The glass is fabulous and full of small and larger bubbles. The jar has raised ridges horizontally at the base and near the top. In addition. There are faint vertical ridges on part of the jar, with one part being free of vertical ridges, possibly in order to place a label on the smooth surface. There is what looks like a large crack in one corner. But this is not a crack, it is a raised ridge on the inside of the jar only. There are also naturally occurring black marks in the glass, rather as if a foreign body has entered the glass when heated? There are some ... morefaint white milky marks on the inside of the jar that have been created by some liquid being left in it for a long time– these may well remove but I cannot guarantee it. It is in great condition but does have some very light chips to the very edge of the neck– nothing that spoils it. This is a really exceptional and stunning antique French jar. Antique Pressed Glass French Jelly/Jam/Preserves Jar Beautiful Pattern!
This large conical antique jar was used for jellies or preserves. Typical of French jelly jars it has a place where- after being covered with a cloth- it would have been tied with a ribbon. You can see that well in pictures two and four. The last picture shows that there is a straw mark on the inside of the bottom of the jar. This is not a flaw- it's from the manufacturing process. The jar stands about three and three quarter inches tall. It is about four and three quarter inches wide at the top and almost two and a half inches wide at the base. It's in EXCELLENT condition! For the collector of biscuit jars. This is a unique addition. It is found in the south of France and has a very soft blue tint and a distinct pillow pattern. The jar has a metal lid and plain handle. The piece is in good condition, glass is intact without cracks or chips, the lid has a very faint 1/8” split on the edge and the rim has a small ding and oxidation along the glass edge as shown. This is an antique. Late 19th century, opaline glass covered box in a shape of strawberry. Made in France by well know glass company- Vallerysthal which is later was bought by Portieux and became PV- Portieux Vallerysthal. The company produced decorative animal and fruit boxes which were very popular in late 19th early 20th century and most of them were used as a candy. Sugar or mustard bo xes. This strawberry. With snail, lidded box is a sugar box. It i s unmarked which tells that it is an earlier species. It is hard to find an older piece with the amount of paint retention as on this one. The box stands 5 1/4" 13.6 cm) high to the top of the snail. The opening is 4" x 3 1/4" 10.4 x 8.3 cm) It is in excellent condition for its age. A couple of tiny stress lines as expected. The glass has bubbles and hairlines and 22 glass baguettes around the body. The top rim is thick and rounded which makes it easy to attach a cotton bonnet(called a‘Charlotte’ in France) and tie it with a ribbon. On the bottom is stamped‘375’ and‘SV’ It is in exceptional condition– no chips. No cracks, and no fissures. It very likely dates form the 1890-1900’s.
