ANTIQUE PANEL CUT GLASS POWDER / DRESSER JAR - STERLING LID MONOGRAM “FMC”
This elegant powder jar has a tapered panel cut glass body topped by a sterling silver domed lid. The center of the lid is monogrammed“FMc” in elaborate script. To the very edge if the rim is stamped“STERLING” The lid’s interior is gold washed. Please see photos. The powder jar measures 4 ¼” tall(to top of domed lid) X 2 ¼” bottom diameter) The jar is in very good used antique condition. With one small chip to the bottom rim, and roughness and discoloration to the hand ground neck(which appears to have had a cork or fabric strip surrounding the outside) This strip would have held the lid tightly. And it is currently ever so slightly loose. The domed lid is unadorned but for the monogram. And has two small dimples to the top. Antique Early 1900's Cut Glass Powder Or Dresser Jar With Brass & Cloisonne Lid
The jar has no makers names or marks. There is a 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch chip on one of the feet and some smaller chips on the feet. The brass lid has a small dent. The enamel on the cloisonne lid is in good condition and I do think it is original because it fits so well. The jar is 4 1/2 inches tall and 4 inches wide. It is about 3 inches high to the top of the lid. The floral rose and gold enameling design is just beautiful! It displays floral roses and leaves three times around the jar. Vtg Antique Victorian Bulbous Cut Glass Vanity Dresser Jar Wooden Lid Powder
This very refined Victorian Jar has been in our family for decades ~ my Mother kept pine needles and dried violets in it. And, what a treat it was to join her at her vanity dresser and be allowed to remove the lid, and smell the garden inside. Jar measures 3-1/2" wide x 3-1/2" tall. As you can see the wooden lid(appears to be walnut) has wee wormholes. Which was not unusual on antiques this old. Inside the lid. Appears to be a final coating? paper mache? The design in the glass is remarkable ~ a stripe of dual large circles. Then a stripe of a trio of jagged edge(sawtooth) And the creme de creme is the large flora design on the bottom. Item Description FAST& FREE SHIPPING! Up for offer is a very detailed& gorgeous Cobalt Blue Glass Dresser or Powder Jar. This is not a small patch box ~ I would call this a"large" size jar. It has a beautiful floral enamel decoration on the lid with gold accent and beaded flower design surrounding the lid and the jar. There is a delicate painting of a plump little cherub ~ the detail is amazing! I do think that there was likely a very detailed scroll type design inside the open blue area on the lid but it is all worn away now. I say this because as you inspect it very closely you can see a few wavy lines at the very edges. There are a few very shallow marks in the glass here and there which look like tiny popped bubbles and you will see one on the lid. The jar opens and closes easily with a snap. All the hardware is secure ... moreto the jar and the hinge intact. There is light wear to the bottom underneath from moving around on surfaces. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs to the jar. It is most likely c. late 1800's and again in a very typical Czech/Bohemian style but I have also seen some Italian Glass with similar designs as well. Beautiful Antique Enameled Bohemian Glass Dresser Box Powder Jar
This is an antique Bohemian glass dresser box. This looks basically like a patch box but much larger. It is a very lovely green color and was hand enameled in a floral pattern. This was probably used for make up powder but could easily be used for jewelry or anything else really- it might be nice as a covered candy dish. This example was made in the Bohemian glass making region we now know as the Czech Republic. Though many manufacturers once existed a lot of these little boxes are attributed to the famous glass maker Moser. This measures 4 1/2" wide and 3" high. No chips or cracks. Excellent condition. This is a beautiful antique covered powder and dresser jar set. As you can see in the photos. Both the silver lids and the etched glass have matching patterns. None of the pieces are marked and I have been unable to determine the maker or exact age. Nonetheless, these are still very nice pieces for your own personal collection and display. The small jar with lid weighs approximately 8 ounces. It is 2 1/2 inches wide at the base and 3 1/2 inches high with lid on. The other jar weighs approximately 11 ounces. It is 2 3/8 inches wide at the base and 5 inches high with lid on. Note that there are a few small dings in the lids.
