Four ball feet and orb at top of swing arm. Measures about 7 3/4" x 5 5/8" and 9 1/4" tall to the top of the swing arm orb. CONDITION: Antique item. No problems with silverplate. Here is an elegant antique Victorian hand painted glass biscuit or cracker jar with a silver plated lid and fancy embossed silver plated handle. The piece measures 6-1/4" high. 8-1/4" high with the lid on, and 10-1/2" high with the handle up by 5-3/4" in diameter. The hand painted flowers are very well executed. The piece retains it's original silver plated lid, which is marked: VAN BERCH SILVER PLATE CO. QUADRUPLE PLATE ROCHESTER, N.Y. in a circle and bears the# 3105. The piece is in excellent used condition, no chips or cracks to the glass and no dings or dents to the metal. Here is a real beauty! A genuine Victorian era Hand Painted Biscuit Jar. The metal part is Quadruple silver plate and was made by Van Berch Silver Co. and is marked inside the lid. The satin glass body is beautifully hand painted with a floral design. This biscuit jar measures 9 inches tall(w/ lid) 11 1/4 to the top of the handle, and 5 1/2 in at the widest part. It is in excellent condition, no chips, no cracks and no repairs.the silver plate could use some polishing, I just wiped it off with a buffing rag. I was told that the glass portion of this is Mt. Washington glass but I'm not sure.you decide.

Up for bid is a lovely. Simple, Victorian biscuit box or cracker jar with twisted silver-plate handle and lid. This is an unsigned piece but has the quality of fine glass such as Burmese, Peachblow, Webb, Mt. Washington, or even Wavecrest. I'm not an expert in any of these glass types- I'm more up to speed with clear glass- but in looking at examples of each, this jar looks most to me like Peachblow or Burmese glass and I'm taking an educated guess as to age- 1890- 1910? If anyone has information they'd care to share, please do. I can provide you with some specific details- the jar itself stands 6"tall; to the top of the handle it stands just under 10" tall. Isn't that the main characteristic of Peachblow and Burmese glass? The inside of the jar is white. I have gently washed the piece to get the majority of dirt and spotting off but it could use another cleaning which I'm leaving for the new owner. Same goes for the silver-plate handle and rim edge. It has NOT been touched and needs cleaning; the plating appears to be intact and should be beautiful when cleaned. There are NO condition issues to note with this piece; it's perfect. As mentioned, the jar itself is unsigned but the underside of the plated lid is marked as follows: looks like a capital MW, the number 4404, and something in script(I think) that looks like"fa" This subtle. Antique Green Victorian Biscuit Jar Art Glass metal lid (not silver) w handle
This is a very beautiful victorian jar. It measures about 6" and 8 1/4" with the lid. I didn't count the handle in the measurements. The diameter is about 4" It is in very great condition as you can see on pictures with no chips. No cracks. There are some imperfections like bubbles in the glass that you can feel with your fingers inside the jar(but not outside) that added to its charm. The color is green, quite enough dark, not clear. I'm not an expert in anything and don't know the kind of glass it is made but it's very very nice. The lid and the handle are in metal. It is very decorative. I don't think it is silver plated. Beautiful old biscuit jar. Likely made around 1910. Makers mark on bottom, DEVON WARE S F& CO ENGLAND. I believe this stands for Simon Fielding& Co. Lovely floral handpainting. Lots of crazing on this old piece, but no cracks or chips noted. Some wear on the metal top and some loss of paint here and there, pretty much what you expect on a piece this old. Crown Devon The Crown Devon story started in the early 1870s when Simon Fielding put his life savings into the Railway Works in Sutherland Street. Stoke-on-Trent. But within a few years, the bailiffs came in and it was Simon's son Abraham, who stepped in to save the company. Majolica ware was in fashion and Abraham started to produce it in abundance. flourished and expanded. Introducing a vast range of new products. The Crown Devon backstamp appeared on a number of patterns from ... morethe 1880s although it was 1912 before the Railway Works was renamed The Devon Pottery. But the inside of the lid is hand engraved several times"X30" I don't know if the marks are from an owner, or maker.Measures about 10 1/2" with the handle up straight. Normal 0 Normal 0 Beautiful pink satin biscuit jar in the diamond quilt pattern. I believe it was made by the Consolidated Lamp& Glass Co. Beautiful pink soft satin finish glass. It measures 6-1/2" tall including the lid and approximately 6" in diameter at it's widest. I actually found this jar being used as a planter at an estate. Considering it's former use. It's in amazing condition, there are some flakes on the rims of both the jar and the lid, and a couple of marks that look to me like pencil marks, I did not attempt to remove. I did however clean it with a mild soap and soft cloth, you will most likely want to go back over it. You will see the expected occasional straw mark and air bubbles in the glass as well.
