This piece is exquisite, with the muted, subtle iridescence that is only seen in older, top quality glass. This beautiful powder jar has lovely purple, green and white enamel accents, with a bouquet of violets on the lid. I know it sounds stupid, but it is truly humbling to handle this old piece. Up for auction is a wonderful handmade cut glass biscuit jar from the 19th century. This beautiful glass jar features deep cuts and intricate patterns giving it a wonderful look. The top of the jar yields a silver plated handle labeled EPNS and a fitted metal lid. This piece measures 6 inches tall by 6 inches at its widest point. The piece is in good vintage condition. The lid has some flaked paint while the glass it self has light surface scratches. A minuscule chip on the bottom, and a few flea bites. Nothing major. This is a great collectors item! This is an antique'Wavecrest' Small clear glass Dresser Jar with hand enameling and hand painting ornamentation from the late 1800s. The jar opens with original Brass hardware around the center holding the top and bottom together. The top of the attached lid and around the shoulder of the bottom part of the jar are hand painted in a lovely Floral& Leaf design with Beautiful rich colors of Deep Magenta Purple and Teal Green. With lots of Gold detailing and White enameling to indicate the ornate lovely designs of the Late Victorian age. There are lots of pretty details in the excellent painting. Antique Early 19th Century Deykin & Sons Cranberry Sugar bowl Hallmarked
Up for auction is a beautiful cranberry sugar bowl with a silver plated hallmarked lid. 3" high widest point wide 3 1/2" It dates back to the early 1800's and under the lid it's hallmarked. The top does have heavy green patina. Appears the silver plating has worn. Underneath the markings and silver plate are good. has a sheared pontil on the bottom of the jar. Antique 19th Century Antebellum Hand Blown Glass Fly Catcher Trap
Description This antique hand blown glass Fly catcher that was originally found in a Louisiana estate sale many years ago. It was dated. In the sale, as 1830-1850. Originally, it was used in the dining room. Sugar water was poured into the trap to lure flies. A linen napkin covered it when the meal was being served. This trap is blown into a wine decanter shape. The“bottle” has three hand applied glass feet. The stopper is hand blown. It measures 7 ½” high, 10” with the stopper) The diameter measures approximately 5 ½” There are various striations and small air bubbles in the glass, a rough edge on one of the applied feet and some minor cloudiness from use. The glass has no cracks. There are some small chips along the inside edge of the top opening. The glass stopper is how I originally bought it. The stopper is old but not likely ... moreoriginal. The trap likely had a simple cork. The lip on the top is hand applied, therefore it has lines in the glass. It may appear that is it cracked in the photo, it is not cracked. Please remember that condition grading is subjective. We suggest you look at the photos closely and use the enlarging option on all auctions to determine condition for yourself.
