The jar was perhaps used to hold sweetmeats or other foods. The sides of the jar are decorated with a nice diamond-cut pattern and vertical cuts. The lid is in the form of a wide-brimmed hat with a pretty cut glass ball at the top. The jar has a polished pontil on the bottom. There is wear to the bottom of the jar. As can be expected of such antique cut glass. This piece was made between 1775 and the 1820s. The condition is excellent. The lid is in fabulous shape. The jar is in great shape as well. There are a few minor fleabites and flakes here and there to the jar. Especially to the teeth. None of them are very visible. The bottom of the jar has a ... morefew swirled air bubbles in it. Almost all present and shiny, while the gold trim on the lid has some rubbing and fading probably from being handled more than the base itself. Antique Sterling Silver Old Reynolds Angels Covered Glass Dresser Jar. This piece dates to around 1900. It is English and it is marked with the hallmarks of the maker on the sterling silver cover. This piece measures 2" high to the top of the cover and it is 1 3/4" in diameter. The cover shows five angels in the clouds. The glass is a cane pattern. The condition of this piece is very good however there are a few minor dents in the silver around the edge and a very tiny imperfection in the glass at the top of the rim. I believe that this was in the making and not damage. Nice little dresser jar. There are no cracks in the silver cover. I will combine items when possible to save shipping costs. Antique GERMAN APOTHECARY Flow Blue COVERED Jar pot Container BEEHIVE MARK
This attractive antique apothecary jar measures about 6" high to the rim. 7.5" to the top of the lid, and about 4.5" in diameter. Over time, putting the lid on and off has worn down the glaze on the top rim a bit and something has stained the upper inside edge(see last photo) However, this staining cannot be seen from the outside with the lid on(except for a tiny bit you can see in the photo of the back of the jar just under the edge of the lid) Otherwise, the jar is in excellent condition with no other staining, and no chips, cracks nor crazing. The lid itself is in excellent- almost mint- condition. The two rows of under-glaze cobalt blue floral decoration have flowed nicely. Giving the jar a warm, soft look. I do not know what was stored in this jar(Erblen? Frblen? Grblen? If anyone knows, I would certainly appreciate hearing ... morefrom you! I do not know who made this jar. There are four marks on the underside. One is a hand printed number 74 under glaze in the same flow blue as the design. Two partially impressed marks appear to be two bars under the beehive/triangle mark. And what looks like a capital L or number 7. The last mark is the under-glaze maker's mark in a blue/green-gray. It is a shield(aka'beehive' inside a round-cornered triangle. Three sides have writing, but I can only make out DEPOSE on one side- which is a French word, so it could possibly be French. One side I cannot make out at all and the third side has a word that looks like it ends in UTTY. Again, if anyone can help, I'd appreciate hearing from you! The jar is cut with a ring of starbursts and is engraved with flowers and leaves. The base is rose cut. The silverplate top has some illegible pseudo-hallmarks. From the shape of the marks and the style of the jar, I judge that this biscuit jar is English, from the second half of the 19th century, circa 1875. I am offering this Antique Victorian Bristol Glass Lidded Jar. Which was manufactured in the late 19th century. Victorian Bristol Art Glass is appreciated for its delicately hand painted botanical motifs; the more finely executed the decoration, the more desirable the piece. This particular piece is a lidded, curvaceous, beautifully hand painted detailed jar. it is 6 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" across the bottom. The color is a clam shell/caramel, it has bright white hand painted, detailed flowers(including lily of the valley) and a butterfly, with shiny golden accents. The top has small hand painted dots accenting the bottom of the lid, also in white. This piece has minor flea bites along the rims of the lid and the top portion of the body. This is a beautiful antique covered powder and dresser jar set. As you can see in the photos. Both the silver lids and the etched glass have matching patterns. None of the pieces are marked and I have been unable to determine the maker or exact age. Nonetheless, these are still very nice pieces for your own personal collection and display. The small jar with lid weighs approximately 8 ounces. It is 2 1/2 inches wide at the base and 3 1/2 inches high with lid on. The other jar weighs approximately 11 ounces. It is 2 3/8 inches wide at the base and 5 inches high with lid on. Note that there are a few small dings in the lids. Antique opaque bright blue vanity jar w/gilt covered decor, rough but unusual
This blue glass jar is rough. But rather unusual, especially in its color. Since this vanity jar is opaque blue, you could say it is blue milk glass, and it may have been designated that originally. We have seen a few vanity pieces like this but very few. It stands on 3 low feet, with 3 seams, 2 3/4" high and 3 1/4" across the opening. The picture looks as if the sides slant, but they are straight up and down The bottom edge is busy with pressed decoration for just about an inch, and was gilded on the feet and along the edges of the scrolled design. Sadly, much of that is gone now, and there are several chips on the top flat round edge of the jar. This has had a rough past. The inside is smooth. But you can see the swirls on the bottom from the process of glass blowing. But overall in gorgeous condition. Up for your kind consideration is this wonderful piece of cut glass. I know of no completely objective way to describe the condition of cut glass. The phrase"mint" is often the word used by sellers and there are rarely any examples of cut glass that fall into this category. To avoid any form of disappointment. I offer a liberal returns policy. Examination is the only method of meeting your personal expectations and in that light, it reduces the need to pull out a microscope, which I cannot do. All previously owned examples of glassware will take on imperfections that were evident at the very moment that it was sold as new and hand made glassware will always have imperfections in the glass such as small seeds or blisters, even bubbles. A common-sense approach to grading condition is to trust the seller and be kind. I would only buy from sellers with a returns policy. The main feature of any piece of glass is the fine work and engraving. Do not discard a piece for reasons of imperfection. Truly antique glass is harder and harder to find over time. While the price of cut glass dropped in years past. The original Baby Boomer collectors have been moving aside for the Millennials, who are now acquiring these treasures along side of tube-radios

This is an antique. Late 19th century, opaline glass covered box in a shape of strawberry. Made in France by well know glass company- Vallerysthal which is later was bought by Portieux and became PV- Portieux Vallerysthal. The company produced decorative animal and fruit boxes which were very popular in late 19th early 20th century and most of them were used as a candy. Sugar or mustard bo xes. This strawberry. With snail, lidded box is a sugar box. It i s unmarked which tells that it is an earlier species. It is hard to find an older piece with the amount of paint retention as on this one. The jar measures 5 ½ inches or 14 cm high to the top of the finial. And is 6 inches or 15.2 cm in diameter. The jar is a deep translucent cranberry red and is slightly ribbed on the interior of the bowl and the interior of the cover. The edge of the bowl has a clear applied scalloped shell edge; the cover has a clear applied glass finial. The cover is hand painted with floral and flowing line designs in yellow. Vintage Green Vaseline Spooner & Covered Pickle Jar Etched & Painted
Up for auction is a pair of green depression vaseline glass spooners. They are a matched pattern. One is covered and one is not, this is original, the spooner never had a lid. The panels are etched with a lovely lace pattern then accented with white enamel. For their age they are in excellent condition, some lines and rough edges but no breaks or chips that I see. The containers are a nice size for severing or display the covered jar is 7" X 4" and the spooner is 4" X 4" This came from a farm auction, so I don't know any history and the items are unmarked, I have enjoyed them for several years and it is time for new display pieces. There is a pontil on the underside of the base with a small part of the rod still in tact. The condition is excellent. There are no chips. Cracks, flakes, hairlines or evidence of grinding. I will point out that the cover has a slightly different color hue to it than the base. I don't know if this is maybe sun related or if perhaps the cover is a match. I am selling a wonderful. Glass covered jar- enameled with a names of 7 German cities, 7 standing, robed citizens, with the coats of arms in front, the year 1616, and centering a seated, king-like figure on front and a large spray of flowers and leaves on reverse. Height to top of finial is 6 1/4" I don't know the age, but there is a ring of wear to footrim from resting on various surfaces over the years. Condition is excellent- no chips, cracks, nicks' stains or distracting scratches; enamels are bright. Stunning!

This listing is for a Pink Opaline Box. It measures about 6-3/4" in diameter and about 6" tall. The bottom of the jar has multiple chips to the interior of the base. The bottom of the base also has wear to it. It has a great look to it and i believe the chips could be ground down somewhat if someone wanted to. i believe the jar is Czech but it is unsigned.
