Not painted on. They are 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" and 4-1/2" tall. I believe this is pressed or poured glass as I can see two seams starting on the necks of the bottle. Because the mouth flairs out, more like an open jar, and there's no lip etc. to indicate it may have had one. I thought it would make a fabulous vase for you, or a perfect open jar to put your balls, shells.you name it, this jar will make them shine! It's an antique blown glass piece, and the color is a lovely bright light green. It's also large, measuring 11 5/8" tall, 7" diameter at the mouth and 6" diameter at the base. It's heavy, weighing in at a solid 3 lbs. The glass is thick, and it's filled with anomolies original to the making- I'm trying to show in in my close ups, even holding it up to the sky doesn't show you very well, though. There's lots of lines(the glass is very wavy inside) bubbles and burps, even on the base. That being said, there is absolutely NO damage at all to this piece- it's in amazing condition, and just drop dead gorgeous! Please ask if you have any questions. This is a turn of the century apothecary jar which is 11" tall including the stopper and 4 3/4" in diameter with 3 1/4" stopper. Jar is heavy and sides are sturdy and thick with side marks as if made as"pressed glass" or in a mold' Stopper is interesting 1" thick and 3 1/4" in diameter There is an indented part on top of the stopper 1/4" deep and1 5/8" across. The plug part is 2 1/2" across and about 1/2" deep with a large indent also 1/2" in and 1 1/2" across. Around the edge of the plug/stopper part ther is a thin ring of cork which must have been glued on and there is about 1/4" part missing. Outside of jar has remnents of a label. Glass coloration includes a medium yellow with graduation into white. This features blooming dogwoods with handpainted enamel raised accents, ornate swirling pattern lid with distinct finial. Antique Hand Made Glass Storage Jar and Top, Amber, USA, HandBlown
Glass Storage jar made in the USA. The top has been ground in and fits the jar very well. I doubt this could be claimed to be"Food Grade' but that does not bother me. I used them for storing dry goods. It is made from amber colored glass. This jar is square. And the top has a unique 12 point star pattern that makes for a secure grip. It measures 9 3/4" tall and 4 7/8" square. No scatches, cracks, dings or repairs. I suppose that I should call it an antique. The jar was made somewhere on the east coast way back in the last century. One can tell that the factory was not modern. There are a few bubbles. And one poppy seed size stone. A stone is a piece of the crucible or some other insulation that breaks off into the glass. There are optic lines left from the cooling process in the trap mold that they were using. Silver carrying bale has unique type hinge arm that lifts lid when bale is tipped back. Bale is mounted to rim. All silver plate. Jar is pastel blue/green with strong iridescence and dark-purple all-over threading. This an unusual piece with truly beautiful glass. The color. VINTAGE FRENCH TIME WORN TREASURES This is just beautiful. It is a rare antique French green/ aqua glass. That I was informed was used for olives. The glass itself if fabulous. It looks to be molded glass as I can see the line running up the side but I would imagine that it dates to sometime in the late 1800's. It is full of bubbles and imperfections. On photograph 3. You will see what looks to be a crack but it is not. Both sides of the glass are perfectly smooth and you cannot feel any crack on the surface. There are also some dark green spots in the jar where there must have been a firing flaw when the glass was made. They are large- I have a clear glass one also. Please check out my! A wonderful Victorian biscuit or cookie box. Made from in elegant and highly collectible Cranberry glass graduating to clear down at the base, the underside having a star cut. The fittings and swing handle are silver plated, the underside of the lid marked EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver and the top of the lid decorated with a very pretty engraving. Excellent condition, the diameter at the widest measuring 5 3/4" the rim diameter surrounding the lid, measuring 4 1/8" 6 1/2" tall to top of finial and 7 3/4" tall to top of handle. RED HONEY OR SYRUP JAR* Estate item. Neat old lidded jar used for honey or syrup dispensing. This piece measures just over 4 inches to the top of the arc of the handle. There are a few bubbles in the glass but nothing very large. The base it thicker on one side than the other. The handle although appearing pressed as well looks applied with same color of glass. There is a line in the handle that midway up that first appears as a break in the glass but even with my jewelry loupe it appears more as a mould like about the perimeter of the handle rather than a fracture through the glass itself. Antique Sterling Silver Old Reynolds Angels Covered Glass Dresser Jar. This piece dates to around 1900. It is English and it is marked with the hallmarks of the maker on the sterling silver cover. This piece measures 2" high to the top of the cover and it is 1 3/4" in diameter. The cover shows five angels in the clouds. The glass is a cane pattern. The condition of this piece is very good however there are a few minor dents in the silver around the edge and a very tiny imperfection in the glass at the top of the rim. I believe that this was in the making and not damage. Nice little dresser jar. There are no cracks in the silver cover. I will combine items when possible to save shipping costs. DESCRIPTION Up for your consideration is a Lot of THREE(3) Antique Vintage Drugstore Counter Display Candy Glass APOTHECARY Jar STOPPERS. PLEASE NOTE. The last picture shows the collection of lids and stoppers I have up for auction. You are bidding on the lids in the 1st 9 pictures. The pointed knob lid measures 4.5" tall. 6" in diameter on the inside rim(outside to outside) and a tad under 7" on the outside rim. It is stamped PAT D on the lid and has some knicks on the inside rim. The domed lid. Which I think belongs to a banned apothecary jar, measures 4.5" tall, 5.25" in diameter on the inside rim(outside to outside) and a tad under 6" on the outside rim. It does have some knicks and feels rough to the touch on the inside rim. There is a small knick on the knob. The light purple frosted rim lid measures 2.75" ... moretall and 4" in diameter on the bottom rim(outside to outside) It is stamped PATEN(backwards N)T APPLIED FOR on the lid. The top outer rim does have some tiny knicks. But the bottom rim does not. Please note that measurements are approximate. I double box and pack very well.
