Dad often would make a card on some of their more special items, the following is from his writeup: Loetz cracker jar. 5" diameter by 6 1/2" high to top of lid. Silver carrying bale has unique type hinge arm that lifts lid when bale is tipped back. Bale is mounted to rim. All silver plate. Jar is pastel blue/green with strong iridescence and dark-purple all-over threading. This an unusual piece with truly beautiful glass. The color. Although delicate, is much stronger than is shown in pictures, perhaps because of lighting. The contrast between threading and iridescent glass is more subdued. Condition: Very nice condition. The piece measures 6-1/4" high. 8-1/4" high with the lid on, and 10-1/2" high with the handle up by 5-3/4" in diameter. The hand painted flowers are very well executed. The piece retains it's original silver plated lid, which is marked: VAN BERCH SILVER PLATE CO. QUADRUPLE PLATE ROCHESTER, N.Y. in a circle and bears the# 3105. The piece is in excellent used condition, no chips or cracks to the glass and no dings or dents to the metal. Here is a real beauty! A genuine Victorian era Hand Painted Biscuit Jar. The metal part is Quadruple silver plate and was made by Van Berch Silver Co. and is marked inside the lid. The satin glass body is beautifully hand painted with a floral design. This biscuit jar measures 9 inches tall(w/ lid) 11 1/4 to the top of the handle, and 5 1/2 in at the widest part. It is in excellent condition, no chips, no cracks and no repairs.the silver plate could use some polishing, I just wiped it off with a buffing rag. I was told that the glass portion of this is Mt. Washington glass but I'm not sure.you decide.

Here is a beautiful Antique Victorian"Mary Gregory" style biscuit/cracker jar. The clear jar stands 6 1/2" to the top of the lid. It is approximately 5" wide. There are no nicks or cracks to the jar. The silverplate is in very good condition with no loss to the silverplate. The enameling is also in very good condition with no noticeable loss to the enambeling. The lid has a"Biscuits" finial with an attached rope handle. The bottom of the jar does show age and wear.

Antique Green Victorian Biscuit Jar Art Glass metal lid (not silver) w handle
This is a very beautiful victorian jar. It measures about 6" and 8 1/4" with the lid. I didn't count the handle in the measurements. The diameter is about 4" It is in very great condition as you can see on pictures with no chips. No cracks. There are some imperfections like bubbles in the glass that you can feel with your fingers inside the jar(but not outside) that added to its charm. The color is green, quite enough dark, not clear. I'm not an expert in anything and don't know the kind of glass it is made but it's very very nice. The lid and the handle are in metal. It is very decorative. I don't think it is silver plated. Antique Pairpoint Mt. Washington 6 sided Biscuit Jar with grapes & leaves
Up for auction we have a lovely Pairpoint Mt Washington biscuit jar. It is six sided and in the grape pattern. It is about 7 1/2 inches across the handle. 5 3/4 inches across the bottom and 6 1/2 inches to the top of the finial height. The silver plate cover has the pairpoint mark and is numbered 3953. The bottom of the jar is marked the same with the numbers 1132 also, the cover and the handle are tarnished but there is no wear on the plating. There is some white powder in the groves from old polish. There are no cracks, breaks or chips in the glass. There is slight paint wear on the rims and small spots of green paint wear on the body. The designs are perfect. The raised gold on the leaves are all uniform with no wear. This is a nice example of Victorian workmanship.

Sold as found in a Colorado Flea Market. It could use a bit of cleaning and the lid could use a bit more polishing but otherwise in very good condition. Only a couple tiny nibbled to the outside of the rim which you will see in the photos. Both covered up when the lid is in place. This glass is"flashed" with the ruby red coloring so there are very fine scratches here and there to the surface as is common for this type of glass wear as it ages. Most of the fine scratches are at the base area. No unusual wear or cracks and no repairs noted. All is as one would expect for early 1900's glass.
