Vtg Antique Victorian Bulbous Cut Glass Vanity Dresser Jar Wooden Lid Powder
This very refined Victorian Jar has been in our family for decades ~ my Mother kept pine needles and dried violets in it. And, what a treat it was to join her at her vanity dresser and be allowed to remove the lid, and smell the garden inside. Jar measures 3-1/2" wide x 3-1/2" tall. As you can see the wooden lid(appears to be walnut) has wee wormholes. Which was not unusual on antiques this old. Inside the lid. Appears to be a final coating? paper mache? The design in the glass is remarkable ~ a stripe of dual large circles. Then a stripe of a trio of jagged edge(sawtooth) And the creme de creme is the large flora design on the bottom. Superb glass work. Jar is sturdy. Strong, heavy(weighs 3/4 of a pound) Other than the charming wormholes in the lid. Condition is Excellent. A joy to see. And a joy to handle. Here is a real beauty! A genuine Victorian era Hand Painted Biscuit Jar. The metal part is Quadruple silver plate and was made by Van Berch Silver Co. and is marked inside the lid. The satin glass body is beautifully hand painted with a floral design. This biscuit jar measures 9 inches tall(w/ lid) 11 1/4 to the top of the handle, and 5 1/2 in at the widest part. It is in excellent condition, no chips, no cracks and no repairs.the silver plate could use some polishing, I just wiped it off with a buffing rag. I was told that the glass portion of this is Mt. Washington glass but I'm not sure.you decide.

Rare Mid 1800's Victorian Era Antique Cut Lead Crystal Glass Jar w lead? Lid
Antique vanity powder or cream jar has been in the family for over a century. The lid is approximately half a pound in weight. The jar itself is approx. 1lb. Measures approx. 4" tall x 4" wide.The underside looks like cast molded lead or pewter and the top side looks like it could have copper in it. So basically I'm saying that I don't know what it's made of. This belonged to my great great great grandmother and was possibly brought to the USA from Germany. Antique Green Victorian Biscuit Jar Art Glass metal lid (not silver) w handle
This is a very beautiful victorian jar. It measures about 6" and 8 1/4" with the lid. I didn't count the handle in the measurements. The diameter is about 4" It is in very great condition as you can see on pictures with no chips. No cracks. There are some imperfections like bubbles in the glass that you can feel with your fingers inside the jar(but not outside) that added to its charm. The color is green, quite enough dark, not clear. I'm not an expert in anything and don't know the kind of glass it is made but it's very very nice. The lid and the handle are in metal. It is very decorative. I don't think it is silver plated. Victorian Bristol Art Glass is appreciated for its delicately hand painted botanical motifs; the more finely executed the decoration, the more desirable the piece. This particular piece is a lidded, curvaceous, beautifully hand painted detailed jar. it is 6 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" across the bottom. The color is a clam shell/caramel, it has bright white hand painted, detailed flowers(including lily of the valley) and a butterfly, with shiny golden accents. This is a beautiful antique Bristol or Opaline Glass Hinged Jar. The jar is hand painted with raised hand painted enameled wild flowers with a gold painted ring around the top. The gold painting does show some wear. The bronze or brass metal rim and hinged fitting is secure with a"c-clasp" to close the jar securely. This box was probably made between 1850 to 1900. Polished pontil on bottom? Please see pictures. There are no chips. No cracks, no breaks, no repairs, and no problems of any kind. Beautiful old biscuit jar. Likely made around 1910. Makers mark on bottom, DEVON WARE S F& CO ENGLAND. I believe this stands for Simon Fielding& Co. Lovely floral handpainting. Lots of crazing on this old piece, but no cracks or chips noted. Some wear on the metal top and some loss of paint here and there, pretty much what you expect on a piece this old. Crown Devon The Crown Devon story started in the early 1870s when Simon Fielding put his life savings into the Railway Works in Sutherland Street. Stoke-on-Trent. But within a few years, the bailiffs came in and it was Simon's son Abraham, who stepped in to save the company. Majolica ware was in fashion and Abraham started to produce it in abundance. flourished and expanded. Introducing a vast range of new products. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CUT GLASS CONDIMENT(?) JAR SILVER HINGED LID EXC COND - NR
This is a no reserve auction for an antique condiment cut glass jar with a hinged lid. very old from a family estate. excellent condition. the lid works perfectly. there is a cut out area in lid for a small spoon. The lid is silver. Either silver plate or possibly sterling. Base of jar is 1 7/8" across and it is 4 1/4' tall including the knob on top. Very thick glass. Antique Victorian glass jar with lid jar is 3" tall. Rim is sterling silver hallmarked AB&S plus 3 other marks. I decipher the marks as: Andrew Barrett& Sons Picadilly. London 1892-1919 the lid is made of bone or faux ivory. There is a crack in the lid. glass jar has one very small chip on the bottom. Please look close at the photos. Beautiful Vanity Dresser Glass Jar with unmarked(Silverplate or Pewter type Lid? Morning glory flowers on lid. Zipper cut/pressed glass container. Measures approx: 3" tall by 3.1/2" wide. Estate find. Normal wear expected with age and use. a very small chip. And 2 flea bites on side of jar hard to see in pictures. Please see all pictures for more info.
