But the ... morelogo is deeply Debossed into the surface of the Jar, to the point that it is almost flat to the jar. Passing your hand over it, you can just feel the bump, but it is not set out like normal. The P in Perfect is also much lower than the rest of the word, and the same with M and N in Mason. When compared to the Ball(dropped a script logo) The P, M and N in Perfect and Mason are a bit more pronounced, although the P is pretty close to being flat like the Ball logo. The N is the most pronounced of all the strange letters. The A in Mason is also a bit larger than everything else. A 10 underlined is found on the base as a mold mark. Jar has a Smooth lip and shoulder seal, lip has a very small, shallow open bubble or flake, but the jar is all in all great condition, with some light scratches, stains on threads and base and very light wear on base. The jar is in excellent shape w/ no chips or cracks. This lid is in near mint condition as well as the glass seal. The jar is dated from 1900 to 1923 by researching clues from the site of ball jar collectors. The glass seal and the perfect mason embossed lettering as well as the centering of the ball mason logo is used to date it. It also is a side seam jar which further dates the jar. It is a Ball Perfect Mason Jar with Number 10 on the bottom. The zinc lid has the good housekeeping seal and the glass seal has number 10 embossed on it. I didn't realize there were whole societies that collect these jars, and found the history fasicnating. Hello all, Today I have 4 sets of Chicken Waterers with a 1 qt. Blue Ball Perfect Mason. Pebble props not included. Three bases are 5 1/2" in diameter with No. 569, patent applied for on the top, and one is marked"patent, No.126997 and has a round insert instead of a hex one. There are some flea bites on the Rim of the jars, the bases look to be OK as far as nicks go.
