Antique heavy glass apothecary candy display jar in a lovely light colonial blue tint. Measures approximately 10" tall with lid. 5-3/4" across the lid's widest distance, 5-1/2" across the rim and 4" across the base. Weighs 4 lbs. Very Good Condition. There are a couple of scratches to note. One is about 1/2" long near the lid knob handle. The other is a curvy line scratch that measures approximately 1-1/2" on the inside base. In both cases these are on the inside and appear to have occurred in manufacturing. There is one 1/8" scratch on the top outside of the lid. There are a couple of very fine scratches on the jar itself but they are only noticeable when looking very closely in direct bright light. Due to their location and/or their size. Vintage Original Large Cobalt Blue Planters Peanuts Store Display Jar& Cover Depression Era Glass Embossed. Antique, Collectible: Who doesn't know Mr. Peanut? The Planters Peanuts guy is on airplanes and at ballgames. He is a ubiquitous figure! The Planter Peanut Company was born on a park bench in Wilkes-Barre, Pa in 1906, when peanut seller Amedeo Obici and Mario Peruzzi formed their company. Several years later the company opened their first plant in Suffolk, VA(1916) ABOUT THIS VINTAGE JAR: This is an eight-sided. Authentic planters peanuts original depression era glass jar. It has four Mr. Peanuts on it. Each is in a standing position. The front and back panels have a 5 cent salted pennant peanuts embossing, each with two Mr. Peanuts, one on each side of the embossing. The top part of the jar says"PLANTE RS" the'RS" ... morebeing separated from the rest of the word. This is a distinguishing mark of an original and not a reproduction. Large Oval Old Glass Dome, cloche, bell jar; to display clock, doll 18" glass
The Victorian era dome on the wood base stands 20" tall. The glass is a beautiful piece of old glass with waves and dots and a few little( 1/4" about) ovals in the glass. I've tried to capture these in the pictures. The glass itself is 18" tall by 12.5" wide by 7" deep. The glass is 1/8 inch thick. You can see in a picture some whitish matter near the base that may be glue. I didn't try to get it off. The dome sits comfortably in the base but is not snug. This was left in our old house( circa 1818) when we purchased it so I don't know any history on the piece. The base size is 13.5 by 8.25 by 1.75. It appears to be 3 pieces of wood- the center piece split; see picture. The 4 ball feet are attached with tacks. It was painted some time ago as you can see the paint is checked in the picture. Remnants of a ... morefabric or fiber'gasket' in the track for the glass sits remains: see that picture. Maybe to keep insects out? I've only used it once-loaded with Christmas ornaments! It would show off a lovely doll or diorama or- you name it! I know it's rare to find this large an old piece in such nice condition! Only selling to 48 lower states please. Planter's peanuts Original 1930's Embossed Display 5 Cent Counter Jar
Original antique Planter's peanut counter display jar is jumbo sized. Measuring 13" x 10" x 7" The words PLANTERS embossed on the glass itself as well as the tag across the front. Also embossed with"made in USA" on the bottom. It does have quite a bit of natural distressing over the years and major scratching on the tag and some minor chipping on the jar rim and lid ARE visible. However it has not made it un usable and gives it a nice vintage charm. This piece has stories to tell. Returns are accepted within 1 business day on items returned in their sold in condition. A Beautiful Apothecary Drug Store Jar ~ Candy ~ For Displaying- Decoration. 13" tall by 6" at widest point on side. Has a 3.3/4" opening and 4.1/2" wide base. A wonderful looking jar standing over a foot tall. Excellent displaying art piece. Also use as a terrarium for growing smaller plants in. Many uses. Ideas are endless. Last picture shows the one chip on the outside. Others are inside and hard to pick up w/camera. the smaller ones and/or tiny flea bites inside rim not seen when displaying. Vintage LARGE Six Sided Drug / Candy Store Display Jar W/ Orange Tin Lid
This is a large vintage six sided counter display jar with a bright orange tin lid. It is designed to sit on a tilt for easier customer access to the goods inside. But it can also sit upright. It measures ten inches tall by ten inches wide by six inches deep so it's quite large. As with vintage glassware, the bottom is ground out and some waves in the glass. There are some very light scratches that are only visible upon close inspection. The lid has only minimal chipping/paint loss. 19thC Purple Sun Glass Store Display Jar
A neat antique(19th Century) Store Display Jar. The jar is a lovely sun tinted purple color instead of the typical clear or colorless. This is a naturally occurring process with antique clear glass. Exposure to the ultra violet sun rays triggers a chemical reaction and the minerals oxidize and turn a wonderful lavender color. The Store Display jar has lots of swirls and bibbles in the glass and was blown in a mold. the edges of the lid are ground. Overall dimensions are 8 1/2" high including the lid x 8" in diameter. The jar is in very good overall condition. the only thing to note are nicks around the top edges, some are from when it was made and are from the mold, see photos.
