This castor is 12 1/2" tall and stands on 4 ornate feet. The jar is in the"Daisy and Buttons" pattern. Normally called"Vaseline" or"Uranium" It glows brightly under black light lamps. This is one of the more stunning vaseline jars I've seen in many years. It glows with natural sun light alone. All the photos provided were taken with natural sun light shining through a nearby window except photo#4. Which obviously was taken with a black light lamp nearby. There are no chips. Nicks, cracks or stains in this jar. The"W" representing L.G. Wright, is imprinted on the inside base as shown on last photo. The lid is probably not original and fits tightly. The silver plating on the tongs. Lid and frame is in great condition and I have no reports of any damage or abuse. Please do not assume I am an expert with the items I sell or that pickle castors are all original or"Mint" Unless specified as such. Old Red Glass Pickle Castor Powder Jam Jar & Silver Plate Lid Victorian Enameled
An antique red cranberry glass pickle castor jar and cover. Note the hand painted enameled floral design. Original gold gilding and blown out panels as well as the fern sprigs in relief. There are 3 panels with hand painted flowers and 3 panels with fern leaves. Dates to the late 1800’s– early 1900’s. The silverplate cover is a good fit, no makers mark, no engraved monogram present. Measures a full 6 3/4 inches tall. The jar measures 4 1/2 inches tall. 3 inch top diameter and 2 7/8 inch base diameter. Condition is good as there are NO cracks. Internal staining, paint loss and 95% original gold gilding present. There is a chip in the top rim. The silver plate lid is in good condition as there are NO dents, pitting, plate loss or repairs present. We accept Paypal. Visa and Master Card payments for shipping purchases. In a previous listing I had a Van Bergh Silver Plate Company Pickle Castor with its original pressed glass jar in a starburst pattern. A buyer had her own"prettier" jar and only wanted the metal castor. So now I have this jar available for the MANY people I see with castors but no jars! The third photo is the mark on the castor I sold. The last photo is an example of what the jar looks like with an appropriate castor. This jar is 4 1/4" tall. Including the 1/4" lip. The bottom is 3" in diameter, 3 1/4" with the pressed glass design beginning 1/4" from the bottom. The lipped top has a 2 15/16" exterior diameter. Antique Glass Pickle Barrel This glass pickle barrel is large in size and stands about 12 1/4 inches tall. It is extremely heavy qualitiy. The mouth opening is about 5 inches. The barrel is around 8 inches in diameter. It appears to be about 2 1/2 gallons in size but I haven't filled it to be certain. There are markings on the bottom that show a. With a 7 to the left of it, a 1 on the right and a 9 underneath the marking. It is in excellent condition with no chips. The glass lip is smooth to the touch. Please note there is some slight rust around the metal wire and the wooden handle is colored with age. I think you will be pleased with this great find. FABULOUS HUGE ANTIQUE FRENCH MOULD BLOWN GREEN GLASS PICKLE JAR 11½" TALL
FATIGUED FRENCH FINDS fatiguedfrenchfinds This is a superb antique French 19 th century large green glass mold blown pickle jar. It is very large at 29cms or 11½” tall! The top diameter is 11cms or just over 4¼” The base diameter is 13.5cms or 5¼” It weighs 1.600kgs. The glass is fabulous and full of small and larger bubbles. The jar has raised ridges horizontally at the base and near the top. In addition. There are faint vertical ridges on part of the jar, with one part being free of vertical ridges, possibly in order to place a label on the smooth surface. There is what looks like a large crack in one corner. But this is not a crack, it is a raised ridge on the inside of the jar only. There are also naturally occurring black marks in the glass, rather as if a foreign body has entered the glass when heated? There are some ... morefaint white milky marks on the inside of the jar that have been created by some liquid being left in it for a long time– these may well remove but I cannot guarantee it. It is in great condition but does have some very light chips to the very edge of the neck– nothing that spoils it. This is a really exceptional and stunning antique French jar. Neat antique 8-quart pickle jar with embossed braiding/roping in four areas around its circumference. Made by Turner Brothers Glass Company sometime between 1905 and 1930. Patent publication was Feb 26. 1929. The bottom glass is marked“ 800” at the top. Then"Design Patented 77822" then the number“5” underneath that. Jar measures about 10.25” tall by 6.25” Glass has green tint. The jar itself is in very good condition except for a small black scuff mark and a few scratches on the exterior of the glass. I tried to take a close-up the best I could to show the little white markings on the glass. Other than that. No chips, cracks, stains or previous repairs to report. 1890 VICTORIAN Cranberry Glass PICKLE CASTOR Jar/Insert ENAMEL Decoration
Offered for your consideration is this lovely Victorian cranberry glass pickle castor insert. The jar has a slight bell shape with a panel optic design. It is decorated with very nice enamel work of gold leaves and scrolls and blue flowers. The insert measures 4 7/8" high. 3 1/8" across at the top, about 3 1/2" at the widest point and 3" at the base. A silver plated lid that fits nicely is included. This piece is in very good estate condition with no damage, significant wear or restoration found. There is very minor rubbing on the gold rim detail where the lid sits-not at all excessive but see photo to evaluate. This is a very nice example and sure to be welcome in any collection. One Vintage PICKLE CASTOR made in ENGLAND with one pickle fork and one mounted drip cup. Glass jar in metal basket. Frame carries the pickle fork and the drip cup. It is 8 3/4" tall to top of handle. The glass jar is 3" square. The fork has Silver Plated and England on the back. Glass jar is 6 1/4" with the lid on. The metal basket has England on the fork hanger mount on the metal basket handle. Glass jar fits snug in the basket. Looks to be a waffle pattern. This is an old piece. I just do not know how old. You be the judge by looking at all my pictures. I did not see or feel any chips. VINTAGE Antique Turner Glass Company Pickle Jar Rope Braid Gallon 10.25" Green
Neat antique 4-quart/gallon pickle jar with embossed braiding/roping in four areas around its circumference. Made by Turner Brothers Glass Company sometime between 1905 and 1930. Patent publication was Feb 26. 1929. The bottom glass is marked“ 800” at the top. Then"Design Patented 77822" then the number“5” underneath that. Jar measures about 10.25” tall by 6.25” Glass has green tint. The jar itself is in very good condition except for a small black scuff mark and a few scratches on the exterior of the glass. Lid is aged and slightly rusted as seen in the photos. I tried to take a close-up the best I could to show the little white markings on the glass. Other than that. The glass is cranberry color decorated with lovely floral enamel work and a band of clear rigaree. My thought is that this bell-shaped piece was made in one of the Stourbridge factories in England at the end of the nineteenth century-any info appreciated. It measures 4 1/2" high to the rim. 2 1/2" across at the top, 3 1/2" at the widest point and 2 1/2" at the bottom base. This insert is in very good estate condition. The only flaw I find is a tiny nick on the inside rim-not at all noticeable but mentioned for accuracy. ... moreI don't know if the lid is original but it fits nicely. This was found in my late father's basement. It's age is unknown. The glass has what looks like paint spots and black tar that I would use a razor blade to remove. But will not attempt to restore for this sale. Inside has dusty grime. Lid is grimy and reads Atlas EOJ seal. Under the grime I have exposed the fact that this embossed lettering is actually in glass, a round interior of the lid. It is like a canning jar lid but seal inside is gone. Label is scratched and has a torn lower edge. The maker is Gerbro of Brooklyn, NY. 1 quart bottle of dill pickles. I cannot find any information at all about this company.
