This jar has a 5" diameter and is made of cranberry glass with raised gold painted flowers and leaves. The attached handle and rim are silver with an intricate design. The removeable lid has a fancy finial. Inside there is a coin-shaped metal label with the manufacturer's name and USA Patented. The company is Simpson Hall Miller& Co. and it is numbered 542. The silver is in worn condition. But the glass is fine with some darkening of the gold. This is a unique piece regardless of its age-related issues. It will be well wrapped for safe shipping. Up for consideration is a lovely antique. Mary Gregory, hand-painted, Cranberry art glass powder jar in beautiful condition. This exquisite piece depicting a stag in the forest has copper metal details. It stands 2 1/2" and is 3 1/4" wide. There are no chips. Scratches or major defects. The copper hinge is partly torn on the inside of the jar.The bottom of the jar shows minor wear. Antique RUBY RED CRANBERRY Mary Gregory HEART DRESSER BOX Powder Jar CZECH MOSER
Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a Very Rare Heart Shaped Dresser Box/Jewelry Box with Mary Gregory painting. Due to the Mary Gregory art design I would think this would date c. late 1800's or very early 1900's. I believe that the red finish is"flashed" on and not the true color of the glass all the way through since the bottom of the box is clear. The color is so lovely and very nicely applied. There are no major areas of color loss. Only a few very light etchings that you will only notice when held up to the light. These are only to the color and are not deep enough to affect the glass. It's hard to explain unless you are familiar with the color flashing process. At any rate, you will hardly notice them, if at all. There are no chips, cracks or repairs to ... morethe glass box, not even a nibble. The glass edges and rim are in excellent condition, only one small area of roughness that you can feel to the inner rim of the heart lid. Nothing that compromises it cosmetically. The white enamel painting is in very good condition as well with only a few pin-prick sized areas of loss or maybe where a tiny bubble popped. It is hard to see but"behind" the white painting there are darker etchings. Or purple paintings, of background trees and mountains. A very unusual technique but it really gives the picture depth, and the rounded lid even adds to it. With my loupe it does appear to be purple or gray paint that has been used to create a whole additional background scene separate from the white foreground. The paint is applied very thinly and not meant to have a thick texture. This is definitely a very unique style of painting. Overall, it is in excellent condition for it's age of 100 or more. The box is 6 inches from the tip/point out to the center of each top"curve/hump" This is a quality piece in a hard to find shape. If you collect dresser boxes, Mary Gregory or Moser glass items ~ then you will have your fill with this

This lovely box or jar measures approximately 2 1/8 inches high by about 3 inches widest point. The condition is as follows: Wear to the gilding. Tiny popped bubble to the inside rim of the lid and a tiny chip to the inside of the lid- can be felt with finger. Cannot be seen from the outside of the lid and barely seen when looking at the inside of the lid. These imperfections are mentioned for accuracy. Please look at all of the photos as they are a part of the description. I don't know the origin of this glass. But by the design it seems French to me. I have not seen anything else like it. There are no markings on it except the number"8" ... moreis painted on the inside of the top and also on the inside of the bottom piece. As you can see from the photos, the gold stars have almost completely worn off of the top but you can still see a shadow of them when you hold the glass to a certain light. This is part of whole collection of Moser glass. I don't believe this is the original top for the jar because there are no grooves on the glass and there are grooves on the cap. The interesting thing about the Cap. It has a little knob that opens and closes holes perhaps for scent or spice. There is a dent. This auction is for a lovely Victorian"RUBINA" cranberry shaded to clear- DIAMOND" pattern glass BISCUIT or Cracker JAR with silver tone metal mounts. The maker and country of origin are unknown(to me) But I would guess this piece is most likely English. Measurements: 9.75" tall with the handle up. 8" to the tip of the finial, 6.25" to the top of the collar- 5.5" wide overall. Condition: EXCELLENT- previously owned/used- NO chips. Cracks or repairs- just a little bubble in the glass- light wear to the metal mounts. SPARKLES!

Tongs have birds foot on ends of them Cranberry Glass is 5.25 inches tall by 3.25 inches in diameter has air bubble in bottom. Glass has great quilt pattern. No chips No cracks. We are very pleased to offer an antique flashed cranberry glass dresser jar. With a Coin Dot pattern that's raised on the interior and smooth on the exterior. It measures about 4-1/2" tall, by 2-1/2" in diameter at the rim, and is in very good condition, with no cracks and some minor roughness/chipping around the interior top rim. Look at the photos and they will give you an idea of how unusual and special this jar is. I am not certain as to what its original purpose was but it is currently holding some dried rose petals and I haven't the heart to empty it.
