I don’t know if the tassel is silk but do know that it’s a remarkable feature. And incredible that it has survived. I’ve only ever seen such a feature in old catalogs; this is the first time I’ve ever found one intact. It’s also in good shape. I removed it, gently vacuumed, and replaced it with no loss. The chandelier is also breathtaking. This is Riddle at their best. The whole is an astonishing symphony of curving. Intersecting shapes. Wow. Wow! I love just looking at it. In addition. The chandelier retains its original polychrome. Amazing. The mains colors are a coppery gold and antiqued silver. Gorgeous. There are subtle accents of green, red, and blue. Yum. Th is is a five light chandelier with five arms that hold chains that lead to a small bonnet and that is where the canopy me ets. The arms hold a cons olidated glass slip on smoke bell over each socket. The glass is in great condition with some minor not noticeable age chips around the edges. For the age they are exceptional. The flash from the camera bri ngs the colors out brighter. Actually the gold is brilliant against the bronze and brass, but not so bright as in picture 4 and 2. The hang of the fixture is about 31 inches and can be reduced by taking out some of the diamond shaped chain. The sockets are new and rewired. The candle covers are original and wor n. Very unique and original. From the 1930s. Hanging hardware will come with the fixture. Bulbs are not included. The width is 19 1/2 inches. Your time and consideration is appreciated as you are by us.
