I’m very pleased to offer this stunning 1930s chandelier with six custard glass shades! Each of the five arms holds an especially lovely shade. And a sixth shade is on the bottom of the fixture. Wow. The chandelier is mostly brass. And the stem is beautifully detailed. I do not know who made the chandelier. But it is of high quality. The finial. Shades, chain, and ceiling canopy are all original. Nice. The chandelier is not actually restored yet. I will finish polishing the brass. And fully rewire. The exposed wire will be cloth-covered like the original. All this will take a week after payment is made. This fixture will be shipped wholly restored and with new wiring. Ready to hang, and with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: Each arm accepts standard base 60W bulbs. The center shade is lighted by two sockets; these bulbs should be 7-1/2W round appliance bulbs(higher wattage bulbs could damage the wiring the clusters above the two sockets) The brass will be polished. It will not be lacquered. The fixture is all brass save a silver disk at the top of the stem. I cannot explain the why of this. The chain. Not brass, is painted gold. COLOR: Brass. A small bit of silver(see above) Custard glass. SIZE: The fixture hangs down 32-inches and is 19-inches wide. I can remove up to 13-inches of chain; I can add chain. CONDITION: I love writing this: there’s no damage. Amazing. I will retain the original sockets. All the wiring will be new. SHIPPING: Insured shipping

Indeed, I have several currently listed, but this is the first time I have ever offered this Deluxe version! The rare and distinguishing feature of the Deluxe version is the three incredible Deco supports just above the body. Wow. These are normally just standard chains. The fixture is also notable in retaining its gorgeous polychrome finish in several tones of burnished gold. And with subtle red and emerald accents. Stunning. The fixture retains the incredible original ceiling canopy. While the porcelain socket rings are original. Too, the sockets and all the wiring are new. The vertical wire is cloth-covered. Nice. Wholly restored and with new sockets and wiring. This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: Sadly. Impressive chandeliers I’ve ever offered, and abounds with amazing details: 1) The finial! Wow! Instead of the standard glass sphere. This chandelier has an intricate glass spear! Wow! 2) The five glass S-shaped arms have notches cut into the glass. 3) There are five additional arms which leap into the air. These hold a glass(not plastic! ring. The ring in turn holds double strands which swag out to the other arms. Elegant. Stunning! 4) The candle covers are not plastic. Nor cardboard. They are glass! Yes. Glass! I’ve never seen this before! 5) The glass bobeches(the disks under the candle covers) are unique. These are normally bowl-shaped but the bobeches here are more plate-like. And each has lovely details cut into the glass. 6) The candles sit in glass cups. And these, too, have lovely details cut into the glass. 7) Above the intricate glass stem is a large bobeche. And from this hangs alternating strands of short/long glass drops. The chandelier is impressive. Too, in its scale: it is 22-inches wide. The vertical wire is new. And cloth-covered like the original. By some miracle. The fixture is totally undamaged. There are no chips or cracks. The upper stems have a thick glass donut, and above that is a stunning brass flourish. Yum! Weaving up through the original chains is new cloth-covered wiring. Nice. The canopies(the cup against the ceiling) are also original. They are very simple. This is meant for the middle of a kitchen. ONE 6-1/2-inch wide 1-bulb fixture! This is meant for over a kitchen ... moresink. ABOUT LIGHTOLIER Beginning in the 1920s. And for many decades thereafter, the Lightolier Company(extant today of course) made some of the very finest fixtures. Their designs were always simply dazzling, and the quality was the very very very best. When you restore vintage lights such as I do, these aspects are so obvious they tend to jump out. It’s always a particular pleasure restoring a Lightolier! The fixtures are typically Lightolier in being rather ingenious. The shades have little leg-like extensions on top. Creating a space between the shade proper and the chrome fitter above. The finial has pierced openings. The reason for all this? You can use 100W bulbs without the fixtures overheating. The heat from the bulbs will create an air current. This will draw cool air up through the openings in the finial. And out through the openings between the shade legs. Clever? I think so! The shades are also striking. The edges have very thin raised lines. And the bottoms have a highly textured, dimpled surface. Nice. The smaller fixture is especially adorable. Each glass shade has minor issues(see last images) The larger shade has two tiny chips. The small shade has three.
